Re: Hurley a target for Rutgers job

Hurley seems as out of control as Rice was. At least on the sidelines they are comparable.

Re: Hurley a target for Rutgers job

Also related, did you guys see that young Richard Pitino has become the new head coach at Minnesota?  This guy has come a long way since he was a first year assistant under Ron.

Re: Hurley a target for Rutgers job

Rutgers is in crisis mode.

Ben Howland is unemployed.

Hurley, as much as I like him, has accomplished ... what?

Ben Howland is available.

Lawrence Frank is an NBA guy.

Ben Howland anyone?

According to what I've read, Ben wants to stay out west.

Not a whole lot of pickens out there, now that the USC job is filled.

He has plenty of money. He can sit for a year.

Re: Hurley a target for Rutgers job

I wish they would hire Danny's Dad, Bobby Sr.  Great Jersey guy, would recruit fabulously for next three years, save the program.  But his wife would never let him take that job.   Rutgers most likely will bring in Eddie Jordan.

Re: Hurley a target for Rutgers job

Bob Sr. must be at least 70 years old now. But to your point, he is not only one of the best basketball coaches on the planet, he is one of the best human beings too.

Didn't Fast Eddie take a stab at coaching somewhere a few years ago and it didn't work out? Probably the NBA?
