Comment on SMS from Dejan in the Trib

• Will Suzie McConnell-Serio cross town to lead Pitt women's hoops now that Agnus Berenato's out?

Not from what I'm hearing. She's happy at Duquesne and has her heart set on getting the Dukes into the NCAA Tournament for the first time. And, odd as it sounds, Duquesne actually is in a better position than Pitt with better players and an easier schedule in the Atlantic 10.

Re: Comment on SMS from Dejan in the Trib

Easier schedule in the A-10? Really? Even at its height the Big East was UConn, ND, and Rutgers. We beat on Pitt and WVU with regularity and I suspect that except for the aforementioned schools (especially since we don't seem to be able to beat the big girls anyway) that Duquesne would do just fine in the old Big East. That's such a knee-jerk. Yes, men's basketball has been a good conference, although still overrated in many years in my books. But how about football?

Please, sportswriters.

I think he's talking about the ACC. The ACC is not as strong as the BE at the top, but it's much deeper.
