Ladies won by 2 at Iona - Comfortable lead for most of the night - Iona tied it up in the last half minute - Laia made 2 free throws with 1.1 seconds to go - Iona missed a 3 pointer at the buzzer. With Nina not available, the Dukes played a traditional 2 guard, 3 forward lineup. Gave more run for A. P., Amaya, and Angela. Amaya played very well with 17 points and a block to seal the game. Amanda and Libby were steady in the back court. Gave up too many drives which led to Iona’s comeback. But the team showed good grit in evening their record. Liked the traditional look. Gives another way to play. Go Dukes! When Duquesne went to zone (though it was a 'soft' zone), there were far fewer drives to the basket by the Iona guards. On offense, Duquesne's bigs were having trouble establishing good position on the block, but the few times when the Dukes employed a high/low post, there was less pressure.

It will be interesting to see if any adjustments are made for the Lafayette game.
Wish the team well.
