I normally appreciate the announcer trying to get the crowd into the game but he has bad timing-

For example, he tried to stir up the crowd just after TDM just made one of the worst passes I've ever seen directly to a GM player that wasn't even close to anybody from Duquesne.

He's just ticking me off asking for a big cheer after a boneheaded play,

Hey coffee, Thanks for the feedback.

Tonight was the first time I ever did it off a mistake but I felt I wanted to keep momentum going for us and not let mistakes spiral.  Usually I do it off a made basket.

The last few games against Mason have been very memorable.

And this one was no exception, but for all the wrong reasons. I watched the first half and went out, came back to watch the reply and saw that the broadcast was about 2:20, and figured overtime.  When it was about 65-62 with two minutes to play, I figured there was no way in hell this game ended in regulation.  Well I was wrong!

Also watched it with a friend of mine who is a casual sports fan, and at the end he said, "This is not the game to sell a casual fan on the game!"  He was right!

Re: Game Thread - George Mason Patriots

I want to give Austin Rotroff a shout out.  KD said he is as heathiest as he has been all season and it is showing.  I thought he gave us really good minutes last night, and believe his role will continue to increase.  Now that he is healthy again, I can see him continuing to develop and becoming a key player next season. He has taken some harsh criticism on this board, some even suggesting he is not an A10 player.  I really hope we don't lose him because he decides to transfer.

Next year on our own home court you will not have to work as hard!  You’re getting to be a regular Mike Lang with some of the catch phrases or just shouting the name of a player making a great play.  It’s kind of a two way street with you and the crowd.

I’ve been to Duquesne games at La Roche, RMU, and PPG but it just isn’t the same as it was at the Palumbo.  It’s harder to get friends and family together without the tradition of going to either the Red Ring, Shale’s or a familiar place before and after.

If we played at Palumbo this year or had the Coop ready we’d have won a few more games and still in contention for the dance.

Wish we could keep Bailee for one more year-  he’s really the ONLY thing we’re losing.

Yeah but I do think our crowds have brought a lot of energy at key times for us despite the travel issues.  It's definitely been a grind to get to all these places though.  I love the RMU arena but it's on the whole other side of the city from where I live.

The refs were the ,ost active team on the floor last night- Mason was called for 25 fouls and had three foul out with on about to with 4.

The Dukes were whistled 22 times and only lost Mike and Baylee close with 4.

The whistled Mike for a few questionable traveling calls too.  Longest last minute ever.

Don't forget the goaltending when the guy never even touched the ball. At least the mistakes go both ways and have pretty much evened out over the course of the season. The A-10 really has terrible refs though.

Re: Game Thread - George Mason Patriots

I know this is late but just wanted to point out we shot 56 percent from the field and that helped win the game.
