Thursday is the most important game of the Dambrot era. Another "one and done" loss to a lesser seed in the A 10 Tourney, like last year, or Ron's 2011 team, and this whole season of progress will amount to nothing! Agreed. No excuse not to have their "A" game ready. Let's rock 'n roll and get down with the Dukes! Agreed. No excuse not to have their "A" game ready. Let's rock 'n roll and get down with the Dukes! While I certainly agree with you both that there's no excuse not to have your A game ready for this opener in the tournament, I disagree with the premise that nothing has been accomplished. Quite the contrary. The team already has achieved more wins and has gained more attention than any year in recent memory. We never should lose sight that this whole mess took a long time to develop. So why is it that there always seems to be negative comments on top of that? I could see if the team regressed this year. I can't imagine anyone thinking that. So if they lose, they lose. It'll be disappointing, but you can't say the season would mean nothing. It means 20-plus wins and a winning record. For Duquesne, that's a lot. Agreed. No excuse not to have their "A" game ready. Nobody will be more frustrated than I if the Dukes lay an egg in their opening A-10 game. Playing diwn to a lesser opponent that is on night 2 of a back to back would be a big, fat disappointment. Things have been accomplished, but March is where you make your stand, as a growing program you get to and win games in the CBI and NIT. If DU doesnt want to attend the CBI, then you better damn well make sure you win Thursday night. Even a 22nd win might not get to the NIT. A 23rd over a good URI team would lock us into the NIT. Fact is, DU is getting no respect, MAYBE, HOPEFULLY our guys take that disrespect and use it to fire them up. I get it - I know - I understand - league - competition - BUT -it is frustrating when I read how with one more win, Robert Morris is in the NCAA - I hope they do it - but I sure wish we would!!!! I respectfully disagree with Tejas Duke's opinion that Thursday is the biggest game of the Dambrot era. I humbly submit that the biggest game for Dumbrot and this team is the next game they play and the next game after that--regardless of when that game is played, pre-conference, conference, A10 playoffs, post-season tournament. Great post apluski. This putting all our eggs in the basket of one game is absurd. This is about building a program that was deplorable and it is being done quite efficiently. Yes, a loss Thursday would be disappointing but that is as far as my negativity will go. I really liked your comment about the next game being the most important. That is the kind of mindset that will get us where Keith, the players, and all of us ancient alumni want to be!! I get it - I know - I understand - league - competition - BUT -it is frustrating when I read how with one more win, Robert Morris is in the NCAA - I hope they do it - but I sure wish we would!!!! RMU gives me more hope than frustration because their winning has become cyclical as a result of the 3-4 consecutive winning coaches they have had. Im gaining confidence that this is the beginning of a similar situation at Duquesne. Astounding to see Robert Morris [in front of a rabid sell-out crowd at their UPMC home] storm the court after literally and figuratively slamming St. Francis (complete with slam dunks) to win their conference and move into the NCAA tournament. Done with an exclamation point! Cudos to the Colonials..... Done with an exclamation point! Cudos to the Colonials..... They've done this many times before. I think this is something like their 11th trip to the NCAAs, all of which have occurred during our drought. They have been about as successful as a low major can be. Kudos to them.
CURRENT RECORD 9 - 14 (4-6 in the A-10)

Again, nice season, but unless you are in the league that gives everyone a trophy, not much has been achieved, and I bet KD would say the same.

Re: Most Important game of the Dambrot era
When we win Thursday, the next game we play will become the biggest game of the Dambrout era and not the Thursday game we just played. Therefore, the biggest game of the Dumbrot era will always be the next game.
Building an entire new Duquesne basketball foundation is brick by brick, block by block with no brick or block being more critical than the next. That's why we strive to win them one day at a time. Every game is a must-win game.
