Offline I am currently one third of the way around the world and trying to follow things, with an eight hour time difference, on this board and Twitter. This scenario has come to mind: Dukes win their first round game against Fordham today.Upset Rhode Island in the next game.Beat Davidson, who upsets RichmondTakes Dayton to the mat, either wining or losing close and gets into the Big Dance for the first time since 1977Dukes play in a first round 12-5 type game and pull the upset! Wouldn't that be grand? And thanks to the Wuhan Virus, it will go almost completely unnoticed. Games will be played in near empty gyms with almost no crowd noise and by that time they will probably forbid the cheerleaders and bands to go, with dribbles echoing like cannon shots in practice, and a few family members watching like its an eighth grade game. None of us long suffering fans, who have promised to move heaven and earth to see these glorious events live, will be able to see it! The Duquesne "Feel good/human interest" stories, the mentions by Dickie Vee, the CBS March Madness commentators talking about us, that we have all looked forward to seeing will be obliterated by talks of health, contagion, and politics. Yeah that would sure be Duquesne karma Offline You beat me to this post! Offline You are missing the positives. The stars are lining up! Who is better prepared to win the national championship? The Dukes have practiced for 30+ years for this moment... playing before no crowds. Last edited by indygjm (3/11/2020 7:39 pm) Offline You are missing the positives. The stars are lining up! Yeah that would sure be Duquesne karma My typical Duquesne scenario is just a tad bit different. They have zero chance of getting an at large bid, so I'm not worried about that. What I could see happening is that we win two games to put us on the right side of the NIT bubble, and then the NIT is cancelled. I'll take winning the A10, even if it means empty gyms. It would also possibly put us in at least some preseason Top 25s for next year, so I'll take it. Earning an NIT bid, and then having the NIT cancelled would just be a punch in the gut. CURRENT RECORD 9 - 14 (4-6 in the A-10)
Wouldn't this scenario be just so "Typical Duquesne?"

As punishment for my wicked ways, your scenario is just about a lock.
I just cancelled my flight.
