So how do you all feel if this is what we have for next season? I like it. We will need the younger bigs to step up tho. Cant just rely on Hughes to do it all, all year long. AR, Kelly and/or Ellis must make an impact.
If Maceo makes a jump, and I think he will, we should be solid. Acuff and Baker might make impacts, should, as can Roesnig as a shooter. Harris, according to PSN, seems like he is on board, but hasnt signed LOI yet.
Overall, roster keeps getting better IMO.
Can this team compete for the A10 crown?
1 Tavian Dunn-Martin - 1
2 Marcus Weathers* - 1
3 Michael Hughes* - 1
4 Lamar Norman Jr.* - 2
5 Amari Kelly - 3(redshirt 2019-20)
6 Austin Rotroff - 2
7 Sincere Carry* - 2
8 James Ellis - 3
9 Maceo Austin* - 3
10 Mike Bekelja - 4
11 Tyson Acuff - 4
12 Jett Roesing - 4
13 Chad Baker - 4
14 Dre Harris - TBD
15 Jake Harper - non scholarship - 3
* = starter based on 2020 end of season

You forgot Baker. At this point we are one over.

DOH!!!
Fixed, and i would assume Harris is out then, unless someone else leaves. I dont want to see anyone else leave.

Also, I'll be the grumpy guy....
One of my bite-your-tongue pet peeves is the misspelling of player's names. Can you please edit to Roesing?
Thanks, townsonkid.

changes made, I think I got the number of seasons remaining correct. Ellis was the only one I am not sure of, but I believe he can play 3 more years.

I’ve heard a lot of good things in terms of Ellis on the court but haven’t seen him play besides the St. Joes game. Does he have the ability to become a Michael Hughes or Shawn James or is he just a big body for boards/blocks?

i dont think the general public knows what Ellis can do. He played vs weaker teams in HS, but dominated. He hasnt played enough(for whatever reasons) at DUQ to tell if he is good or not. So, I think, only other players and the coaches know what he can do at this level. He has the size and the frame to be legit. Hopefully we'll see him progress over the next couple years.

Thanks TOWNSON. Much appreciated.
Online!

Every time James has hit the court last season he impressed me. He seems especially agile considering he's 6'11. I would love to see him play a nice 20-25 minutes to see what kind of stats he can really put up in game.

A lot depends on Harris' status. He was offered, and he gave a verbal commitment. If he still plans on coming, I don't see any way KD would pull his offer (other than him getting into trouble). Pulling an offer from a kid that has accepted it will cause countless problems recruiting for a coach that does it.

Instead of typing all that out, just bookmark this site: verbalcommits.com/schools/duquesne
And hit depth. Apparently I can't post the actual URL.
According to this site the only 3 star (roster and 2020 recruits) players are Austin and Rotroff. A good example for not putting much credence in basketball ratings.

If Jeff Reisling's stats are true, he should start as a freshman.

On this board, this kid's name has been spelled so many different ways....

What are his stats?

Stats without context don't mean much. Who was a kid playing against? 15 points a game playing in Chicago's high school league is going to tell us a whole lot more than averaging 30 points a game in Maine's lowest classification. Coaches know this, and can usually read the difference. We'll find out how good Jett is when he gets here.
