Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

Good chance to play teams people heard of, knock them off and get some credit across the conference.   Hopefully the team stays safe and virus free, cause Richmond is right around the corner from those games.

So DU scheduled their first 4 home A10 games for LaRoche.   The next home game is Dayton.   Can we assume the goal is to open the Coop with Dayton, on ESPN?  If not, just play them all at LaRoche and save the grand opening for next season when people should be there.

Doing a grand opening without fans is pointless. Play there when it's ready, but do the official opening next year. Some of you aren't going to like it, but if KD really gets this thing rolling, all games vs Dayton will be at PPG. The atmosphere at last year's game was as big time as I can remember for Duquesne playing someone other than Pitt. KD came here to make this a top 40 program. To do that, you have to reach a point where you can put 10,000+ butts in PPG 2-3 times a year. Look to Villanova. We're not likely to reach that level, but they should be what we aspire to become. You can't be afraid to be great. We now have a chance.

Good,
SBU, Mass and Ford haven't played a game.
If we could win both great otherwise it is
very good we have competitive games before conference play.

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

Any information about the games being broadcast? If they were home games they'd be part of the A-10 package on ESPN+ but since they are neutral I don't know who has the rights. I've grown accustomed to seeing all the Dukes games. The games in the Bahamas were tough to handle last year.  It would be disappointing to miss more games that I don't have the option of traveling to. Especially since they're the only ones scheduled for two whole weeks.

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

Just read an article on our FB group that the SIU coach said Mondays game isn't a definite yet... and have multiple options... How is that even possible with a venue and tip off time already planned? And it's not really fair to our kids if they end up pulling out... Ugh.

Sounds like their coach really doesn't want to play us.

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

There will be no requirements for number of games to make a pretend NCAA tourney this year(not that it will happen anyway), look how quickly the Big10 allowed Ohio St to play in their championship football game.   This is all silly, dangerous and a waste of time and money.   Forget Indy, prepare for Richmond.

Totally disagree. It's been a hardship playing all over the place. As soon as the Coop is ready, we need to be in there. We have a good team this year. Why put them at a disadvantage? Have the big shindig at the opener next year.

SIU Athletics website has this game on their schedule.

Yep, game is official now. I think we would have had a serious disadvantage against Richmond if we did not play before seeing them. Waiting two weeks after your last game isn't ideal and hurts the rhythm I think the team can get in headed into the Richmond matchup.

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

UNCG lost to Coppin St. Makes our win over them pretty worthless. Really need to win these games in Indy.

Agreed, look how flat they looked against Little Rock, who had already had a game or two under their belts.  Last thing they need is two weeks worth or rust before heading to the lions den.

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

Appears there will be No TV per the SIU beat writer for Monday's game.  Unclear as to what radio he is referring to in his post.

"I have been informed that the organizers in Indianapolis, where @SIU_Basketball has signed to play Duquesne Monday afternoon, will allow the radio team but no other media in the building. So I will have to cover the game with live stats and listening to the radio. Ridiculous."

CLK - I saw a reference on one of their sites that the game would be covered by the Saluki radio network.  You should be able to  connect to it from their website - https://siusalukis.com/

Re: DU to play Loyola Chicago 12/16

Perhaps the 12 days between games allowed the team to catch-up on its conditioning. Surely 7 consecutive weeks since the COVID layoff is enough time for a load of twentysomething studs that have been on campus for 3+ months to have achieved optimal game shape. 🤭

I'm so happy coach doesn't have to be concerned about that anymore.

I’m not sure that they have been practicing since the Louisville trip. I’ve seen Duquesne listed as one of the many teams on COVID shutdown.

Thanks.  I have researched this and did not see any direct link to a live radio stream, however, there is a way to get this broadcast.

To listen you have to go to Google Play and download the CIL FM Radio app to your phone or tablet..
