Offline Coach Dambrot did the right thing. Dukes have to win the A10 either in season or at tournament. No pre season resume builder. Interesting however Lasalle playing at Maryland today at 2 pm. Unfortunately, it looks like Duquesne can’t schedule a one car funeral. Run the table if indeed an A10 tournament occurs in March. Offline Might as well, no games, already got the virus, so they cant get it again(most likely). Give them some time away, reboot, and hopefully be ready for SLU. Unfortunately, it looks like Duquesne can’t schedule a one car funeral. Run the table if indeed an A10 tournament occurs in March. I also agree with the coach's decision to shut it down. I don't like it anymore than anyone else here, but if you have an entire team infected, just let them get themselves together and regroup. It's unfortunate. Obviously, if all nine teams in that Louisville event were shut down at one point or another because of this virus, then you can't at all blame Duquesne for getting caught up in it. Every team has had a different scenario. Some teams weren't exposed because they may not have been involved in a tournament of this nature. I am certain that coach Dambrot would have had Duquesne playing some bigtime opponents if he weren't hit with this constant string of positive testing. The Dukes were supposed to play Loyola-Chicago and Southern Illinois. I'd call those two big-timers. Southern Illinois just knocked off Butler of the mighty Big East. There would have been plenty more where that came from in my eyes because I feel we have a coach who gets it. I feel bad for him. And obviously for the players, too. Offline I agree this was the right thing. The safe decision would be to make them stay and practice so if we lost it couldn't be said that the coach didn't work them hard enough. If their situation is like the football players whose teams refused bowl bids because they haven't seen their families in months, Coach is treating his players like human beings rather than like hired entertainers. I hope the players appreciate him and translate that appreciation into some W's. Offline Hofstra wins at Richmond. Not good for A-10. At best 2 bid league. My concern is that the A10 Commissioner continues with the conference tournament in God forbid Brooklyn NY. If not due to ongoing restrictions by Cuomo the Dukes have to flat out win the A-10 for the season. Big task for Coach Dambrot & the team. Maybe the tourney could be moved to an indoor Walmart or Home Depot in NY.If the NCAAA Football Final 4 committee moved the Rose Bowl to Texas why not cancel NY & move the Tournament to the Hampton Roads area.Virginia Has reasonable Covid restrictions. No brainer. Offline May everyone have a Blessed Christmas - Hanukkah - Offline Same to you FAM; and best Holiday wishes to the players, coaches and loyal Dukes basketball fans! Please be smart stay healthy and look forward to attending games at our new facility, The Coop!
CURRENT RECORD 9 - 14 (4-6 in the A-10)
