Dukes will play only five home games in its 2013-2014 13-game non-conference schedule: Green Bay, a perennial NCAA tournament team, on 11/17/13; Buffalo on 11/17/13; Providence, a member of the new Apostolic 12 Conference, on 12/05/13; Bobby Mo, the Dukes' cross-county rival, on 12/18/13; and WVU, who is still smarting from back to back loses to the Dukes, on 12/21/13. Dukes' Women's Non-Conference Schedule Released
Big road games will include: a posible match-up with DePaul, also a member of the new Apostolic 12 Conferrence, in the Maggie Dixon Classic in Chcago, on 11/8 &11/9/13. That tournament includes Harvard and Cal Poly both of whom are coming off of 21 wins' seasons. Two other non-conference games include new ACC members Notre Dame (finished ranked #2 by USA/Coaches Poll) in Toronto on 12/1/13 and Pitt, on 12/29/13.
The schedule has some pretty tough opponents spinkled with some teams which appear to have a nucleus of talented returnees. Kent State, Buffalo and Morehead State appear to the weaker opponents. While Robert Morris was pretty bad last year, the Dukes' will have to contend with 6' 0" NEC Player of the Year senior forward Atremis Spanou (19.1 ppg) who led the NCAA with 15.6 rebounds per game and was tied for second in the country with 26 double-doubles.
