I had the same thought. He's pretty smooth for a young kid with length. I don't know if it comes naturally or was coached into him, but he has a neat move where he dips his shoulder to get through traffic then explodes back into full height for a shot. Nice little film clip,

Imagine having a three with that kind of length.

Beats having 6-4 post players.

Re: Recruiting

This recruiting business is interesting. Teams offer 20 or more kids when they only have 2 or 3 openings.

It's a game of musical chairs. There are also kids who have offers, but are hoping for offers from higher level schools that have recruited them, but not offered yet. They are hoping those schools strike out with their main targets, and have to resort to Plan B.

Re: Recruiting

Duq81. If Luther tells Pitt he's taking the offer can Pitt say you will have to wait to see if we get someone else first or do the first who accept get the schollies? Then once you get a commitment at a certain position you would pull the offers from others at that position.

If Pitt has truly offered, he can take the offer. If they pulled it, it would look very bad, and other coaches would use it to roast them. When a school wants to put a guy on hold, they do not offer him. They would usually tell the kid that they like him, but that they have to see how other things shake out, before they can be sure that there will be a spot for him. Many kids will accept this if they really don't like the offers that they have in hand. It's a gamble, but the whole game is a gamble, that's why I say it's a game of musical chairs. Some will win and get a seat at the big boy table, while others will lose, and end up at a lower level than what they turned down.

Re: Recruiting

Lincoln Park's Elijah Minnie, a 6-foot-9 senior forward, said he currently holds 13 Division I offers. Duquesne, Robert Morris, Virginia Tech and Temple are a few of the schools on the list. Minnie said he expects Pitt, West Virginia, Memphis and N.C. State to offer soon

Re: Recruiting

Corey Evans ‏@coreyevans_10 Here checking out 2014 Ryan Luther. Seems pretty comfortable with a top 4 of GW, Duquesne, Dayton, & Pitt with decision on the horizon

Corey Evans ‏@coreyevans_10 8m@FrankiePa I'd give the edge to Dayton or Duquesne. Both have made him a priority, especially Duquesne

Based on his prior comments, and the most recent one below from the Rivals article today, I would be shocked if he does not select Pitt.

"Obviously I am excited about the Pitt offer because I live so close and it would be special to play there. My family and everyone has been excited about it. I will go down there and check everything out and then make the best decision for me."
