I do not usually post off topic subjects, but I saw where an ESPN 30 for 30 film, Big Shot, directed by actor Kevin Connolly was made about John Spano. He is the fellow that was briefly the owner of the NY Islanders and was arrested for bank fraud in 1997. I kinda remember the story, what I did not know was that he was a DU grad. I found this Wikipedia summary interesting and thought I would share in case some of you remember him. His South African partners? I guess he got an email stating that the son of the Treasury Secretary was being forced to flee the country, and if he would just provide his bank address, he would get a cut of millions!
