Re: Did you know?

Let's beat St. B. then we will talk about what KD is or isn't.Mediocre likely, means nothing, unless you start beating real teams. Let's beat a real team on the road, then we are for the first time in a half century something. Go Dukes

Re: Did you know?

Good stat, but how you play in February and March means a lot more in college basketball than how you play in November and December and that's been a problem at Duquesne no matter who the coach was. Those hot starts under Keith were largely the result of weak non-conference schedules, though this year's was somewhat better. Here's Keith's record:

2017-18: Started 13-5, finished 3-11
2018-19: Started 14-5, finished 5-8
2019-20: Started 15-2, finished 6-7 before Covid cancelled the rest of the season. Like to think that team had a few more wins in it.

Here's hoping this year's team can close stronger. The schedule down the stretch sure looks favorable. As for the other three Dukes teams with 13-5 or better starts in the previous 45 years:

2010-11: Started 16-5, finished 3-8
2007-08: Started 13-5, finished 4-8
1979-80: Started 14-5, finished 4-5

Honorable mention to Jim Ferry's 2015-16 team that started 10-2 on its way to 15-7, then finished 2-10.

Nice stats. This 15-3 start didn't ring in my head like we won the A-10 because of a fast start in OOC .
