Thanks, Ironduke81.  If you look at this game objectively, the line makes sense.  But there is nothing objective about playing in Olean.  I'm still pissed from that game up there in 2011 where the Dukes had their 8 game conference opening winning streak snapped. TJ McConnell stole the inbounds pass (right in front of the Bonnies student section) with less than 10 seconds left in the game, but the refs called a phantom travel. Of course, the Bonnies then hit a 3 to win the game. Hoping this trip will be different for the Dukes.

That was one of the most blatant homer jobs of all time. The calls went against the Dukes for the last 8-10 minutes. It wasn't a phantom travel, TJ was shoved hard. The Bonnie faithful seated with me were alternating between laughing at the refs' obvious bias & chastising me for selling out my hometown team in favor of the Dukes.

I too retain my rage over that loss.

I would feel a lot better if I knew Tre was playing tonight.  If the perimeter shooting is cold we need to be able to score consistently inside and having Tre complement Big Joe underneath is a must.  I know Rotroff and Dixon have been good filling the rim in spots but having an experienced scorer taking the high percentage shots in that environment is huge, 

I keep fighting the instinct to lock the office door, get in the car, and head up I 79!  I could get a nice dinner in Olean and head over to the game.  There is still time!  Tonight should be an epic battle.  Both teams fighting to solidify their identity in the league.  And for those that have never been - a Bonnies game in Olean is bucket list stuff.  The whole town is there and it seems like they all know each other.  And they all are rabid SBU fans

My belief is that tonight could define the rest of the season.    A win, and the Dukes have turned the corner.  A loss and other concerns of same old same old may surface.   Up to the defense!!!  Come on Duquesne!!!!

This thread is getting me super pumped for this game tonight.
 

And people wonder why attendance at home games is lacking. Who would want to show up and watch this team, that’s disappointed for decades, and does so again today. 

This first 11 minutes & the constant player turnover are why I think KD is a subpar coach that is not capable of taking the program to the top of the league on a consistent basis. 

He's done well building the program from the abyss & been outstanding on the recruiting trail. Unfortunately, his incredibly predictable offense with very few wrinkles & one-trick-pony defensive philosophy are regularly crushed by well coached A-10 teams.

This team has proven to be resilient & tough. They may just win this one but they will do so having started out at a major tactical disadvantage.

Bonnies D is tenacious. 

We’ll win this game. We have shown to struggle when the refs let a physical game be played (on one end at least). Meanwhile, we are getting called for handcheck on our end, but I digress. We have adjusted, and I like our chances moving forward.

Their scouting & implementation has bee excellent for tonight's game. I watch most of their games & while they are generally quite good defensively, this is not a scheme I have seen them use this season.

On top of that, yes 100%, they have been ferocious & controlled.

KD, half-court is laying an egg. Pre-game the announcers talked about the Dukes high scoring running high presser style, but KD with a week off, just instructed this team to play low scoring dumb-down basketball. We are playing into the strength of St.B.  No presser inbound and no presser up the court, and no transition to the hoop by the Dukes. 13-5 start means nothing if you can't beat a middle of the road A-10 team with this much talent. This first half was a joke. This is all KD.

I promise am not trying to pick a fight. The officiating has nothing to do with the current score. 

I am appalled with the unthinking defense that Dae Dae, Clark, Gunn, & Reece are playing this far into their careers & this season. I think we can now also expect to see a steady diet of our PGs being driven around & through by smart A-10 opponents. Those 2 are just getting out-physicalled.

KD  has the deepest bench in the league. HOW ABOUT PRESSING TO SHOW THE BONNIES A DIFFERENT LOOK!!!! Heaven forbid they play zone for a few possessions.
