RECAP Sincere Carry scored 18 points, handed out a career-high 11 assists and hit big free throws both at the end of regulation and in overtime to lead Duquesne (19-8, 9-6) to an 81-77 win at St. Bonaventure (18-10, 10-5). The win was the school record fifth Atlantic 10 road win for the Dukes who snapped an 11-game losing streak at Reilly Center. Michael Hughes had 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks and Lamar Norman Jr. added 14 points - including four 3-pointers - for DU. Duquesne, which led for over 32 minutes overall, found itself down three when Kyle Lofton, who scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, scored on a Hughes goal tend with 40 seconds to go. Hughes answered with a jump hook to make it 70-69 with 27 seconds left. Lofton then made one-of-two free throws to set up DU’s final possession. Carry was fouled and converted a 1-and-1 to tie it at 71-71 with 13 seconds left to force overtime. Baylee Steele opened overtime with a 3-pointer to give Duquesne a lead it would never relinquish. DU was up 78-77 when Carry, who had just misfired on a 3-point attempt from the top of the key, drew a charge from Justin Winston at the other end. Tavian Dunn-Martin was then fouled and made one-of-two with 21 seconds left. Hughes then got a piece of a Lofton shot in the lane that was tracked down by Carry who was fouled with seven seconds left. Carry buried both free throws for the final margin. Duquesne led by nine twice, before taking a 35-28 lead at the half. Hughes had eight and Austin Rotroff, who had 10 points in his first 17 games, scored all six of his points in the opening 20 minutes for DU. Lofton, who had two points on three shots in the first half, scored five in the first two minutes of the second half to key an 11-3 run that gave SBU its first lead since the 12:15 mark of the first half at 39-38. Carry had a layup rim out and Osunniyi, who finished with a game-high 23 points, converted at the other end to make it 60-56 with just over five minutes to go. Carry then hit a 3-pointer to make it a one-point game. SBU scored on back-to-back possessions to take its largest lead, before Carry scored to make it 66-63. DU cut it to one on a Carry drive with one minute left.

NOTES The Dukes assisted on 23 of 31 field goals ... St. Bonaventure’s largest lead was five at 66-61 with 2:50 left in regulation ... Duquesne’s largest lead was nine the last of which came at 35-26 with five seconds left in the first half ... there were four ties and nine lead changes before Baylee Steele gave DU the lead for good on a 3-pointer to open overtime ... St. Bonaventure led for 9:41 ... Duquesne led for 32:32.

Took longer than I expected but Bonnie board started up with the we are going to get homered by officials take. Must of been a couple of old timers because we haven't enjoyed any home cooking since the nelson's were here but I hope they're right for once.

Not to change the subject,but I watched St.L. loose at Dayton and 2 things struck me. They can not shoot and they can't defend under the basket. Dayton didn't beat them as much as St.L. simply missed every shot.  Win today and beat St.L. and we just might sweep the rest of the season.

Wow, I'll save the analysis for later.  That was amazing. That defensive effort was unlike anything I have ever seen. I love this team. Great win!

This ain’t horseshoes. This ain’t hand grenades. Wins a win and good teams have to be able to gut them out. How many Dukes teams in the past would either win big or fold under pressure with no in between? Bona is *always* a tough out and we got there. Let’s gooooo!
