It helps the Dukes with the bye. But, it is still a high hill to climb. The Billikens have three games left - Loyola and Dayton at home and VCU away. They have to lose at least 2 of those games and the Dukes have to win out our remaining 4. Otherwise, we could end in a tie at 12-6, and the Billikens have the tiebreaker.

How do tiebreakers work, say if we end up tied for Fordham, and we split the season matchups with team 1-1? Or, how would a 3 team tiebreaker work with us, Fordham and StL, if we lose the season total games played vs those team 1-2?

Here are the tiebreakers
In a 2 way tie with Saint Louis, Saint Louis wins the tiebreaker on head to head matchup.
In a 2 way tie with Fordham (assuming Dukes beet Fordham next week), Dukes have the tiebreaker due to win vs VCU (highest seeded opponent - assuming that VCU finishes first).
In a 3 way tie with Saint Louis and Fordham, Fordham gets the tiebreaker due to 2-1 record vs other tied teams. Then Saint Louis would then get the tiebreaker with the Dukes because of head to head.

We would win the tiebreaker in a two way tie with Fordham assuming we beat them in the last game. The tiebreaker is best win. If VCU stays number one, we would have the best win.
In a three way tie with Fordham and SLU you go to games vs each other.
Fordham 2-1 (beat DU, SLU, lost to SLU)
SLU 1-1 (beat DU, lost to Fordham.
DU 1-2
DU would be out in a three way tie.

Doesn't seem fair that we get to wear them out but Richmond gets the W.

So, win out, and I think get the 3rd seed. Win tiebreaker vs Fordham and StL is losing 2 more games.
