A Duquesne Memory

With 70 days until DU Hoops Tip Off here is a Duquesne Memory.  Anyone here remember this game?

Nice touch CLK. This board has been dead for the last 2 weeks. Good stuff 👍

In a way it is nice to have a quiet off season.  However, there does not seem to be much appetite for discussion lately, This board may have outlived its useful life. May be time to pull the plug.   We will see after next season.

As you know Rick summers are always slow.  I believe, however, that this is going to be an exciting year for Duquesne fans and as the season gets closer we will see more activity.

We will see how things go after the season before making any decisions, and certainly would discuss this with you, Phoenix and FAM beforedoing anything. I am hoping that more folks will step up and share.

Not having a great deal of insight and being in TN I don't have a lot to write, but do hope you and the "inner circle" stay with this. It's a good source of info (which is limited in supply even for locals.)  It is much appreciated!

Re: A Duquesne Memory

CLK, I go through phases where I do a lot of sharing and like you said in a way it is nice to have a quiet off-season. Once games start being played I can't stay off this website because it's one of the only places to have passionate duquesne basketball discussions

Re: A Duquesne Memory

Like applecorps I live out of state and appreciate the inside information and insights from this board. I heard about it in 2015 when another board went dormant. I don't contribute much because I have never been expert in technical aspects of a sport ("just a fan"), have no inside information, and frankly don't care to be involved in heated discussions (don't care if the Pitt board is worse that way). That said, I've learned a lot about DU sports here and would miss it if it stopped.

Re: A Duquesne Memory

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate all you guys who have shared and contributed to this forum over the years.  Most of the fans that visit this Board are older guys like me.  For many this Board is the main place where they can find quick information about the Dukes, however, it only works if someone is doing the clipping and pasting. Maybe I should say it works better if more people are clipping and pasting.  I would guess that most of us are not into social media like Twitter that moves at a very fast pace.  I use to just read Twitter to find recruiting information without being a member, but changes to Twitter Policy now only allow you read posts if you are a member.  So, I reluctantly open an account to try to keep up with what is going on especially in the world of recruiting.  Unfortunately, it makes it a little more difficult to move information to this Board as links will not work for those who don't have Twitter.   Some things just can't be duplicated to this Board.  If you have Twitter here is the link to my account so you can follow me CLK (@CLK1971) / X (twitter.com)

For those not on Twitter I will keep trying to get a lot of the same information to this Board but I would ask for your help to make this experience better.  GO DUKES!

Re: A Duquesne Memory

Not going to start a new thread for this, but if you haven’t read their bios, go to the DU men’s basketball coaches area and read the bios of the new 2 young guys. Interesting. Hope they really help!
