Pitt’s Non-Conference SOS is in the 300’s. Schedule Duquesne on a neutral court rather than another cupcake at home and they may be in the tournament for sure.
Cappel has no respect for local traditions and shows he’s afraid of an early challenge that would draw a big local crowd.
Stop whining about being on the bubble and do something to get there and respect the Western Pennsylvania traditions the way they do on Tobacco Road. It would generate more fans and interest all around and stop complaining if you wind up in the NIT.

Base on the latest bracketology on Teamrankings, Pitt now has a ZERO chance of making the Big Dance!
The Dukes are still holding strong at 24% for both the automatic bid and 24% for an at-large.
My gut hunch is that if they win today, they are in, even if they lose the championship game. The Committee loves a good story and you can't go wrong wiwth 47 year tournament drought, finishing the season on a hot streak, Dambrot's wife's medical troubles....etc. Fingers crossed.

There is NO scenario, a ZERO chance, for Duquesne to get an NCAA bid unless the Dukes win the A10 tournament.

Yep, I say we walk in thru the front door and leave the back door alley entrance for the Power 5.2 charity cases.

Agreed- Best statistical analysis shows less than a 1% chance to get a non-automatic bid. Even if they beat the Bonnies and it rises, it will sink again anyway in a loss in the title game.
Bottom line, win the next two or be content with a better than even chance to go to the NIT. The only question is will the NIT take so many A 10 teams that truly deserve it?

Since the NCAA runs the NIT and seeds it, we know who the first four teams out of the NCAA Tournament are. It would be great to see the Dukes in the bracket on Sunday after winning the A-10 and then see Pitt get a 1 seed in the NIT when that bracket is announced a couple hours later. Too scared to play us? Fine, we'll knock you out of the tournament anyway.

Was the Ivy predicted to get 2 bids, or did they steal one when Brown beat Princeton? These things affect the NIT too.

While not totally out of the question, Princeton is a long shot to get an at-large bid. They'll definitely be in the NIT, but it shouldn't affect our chances at all.

Ole Miss will turn down a NIT bid to focus on their roster and portal, which someone said opens monday.
