Re: A10 Spending - How DU ranks

Just thinking out loud here:
Duquesne, $16.5 million athletic budget.
Scholarships, $6.2 million (38%).
Men's basketball, $3.6 million (22%).
Football, $2.5 million (15%).
Recruiting, $440K (if this is just men's basketball, it's 12% of the men's BB budget).

For comparison, UMass spends 25% of its men's BB budget on recruiting, 4% of its budget on recruiting, VCU spends 5.5% of its budget on recruiting. There doesn't seem to be much science behind it, does there?

Re: A10 Spending - How DU ranks

St. Louis certainly overachieves with the dollars they spend.

Re: A10 Spending - How DU ranks

A number of years ago, pre current AD we all complained that DU didn't put enough money into these things and that we needed to increase $$ to be competiive.  It is good to see we have done that.  The down side is now we need to increase effective people and players!

Pressure, you're right ... I forget to mention them. You think they're mailing postcards to potential recruits or something, huh?
