As twin brothers we’ve been able to live out a dream of playing college basketball in the United States over the last five years, taking part in some memorable experiences at both Saint Peter’s and Duquesne. However, being natives of Mali, we are away from our family for extended periods of time. Both of our parents, and especially our mother, have faced medical situations that have been incredibly challenging for our family. Thanks to numerous visits to a hospital in West Africa for our mother, our family has incurred significant medical expenses, exhausting all of our resources. Add in the fact that our father has been unable to work due to his own health issues, and the situation has been overwhelming, especially during our college career when we are so far away. Throughout our collegiate journey, and especially the last year, Duquesne has been an ally in helping us lift some of the financial constraints due to the health issues of our parents. However, considering the age of our parents and the mounting medical expenses, we’ve turning to crowdfunding as a last resort to ensure the care they need.
