I took it from the game reporting and earlier blogs that Ferry took the LaSalle game pretty hard. Glad to see the team is focused on St. Joe's. If you read Ferry's comments, he is seeing the same things that we are.

I like what I read there. I like that they did the three road games in a row on purpose. Not tough competition, but we've lost to plenty of scrub teams on the road over the last 30 years, so any good play on the road is a positive. Got to work to get Mason more shots. More screens for him, and he can't get frustrated and stop moving. Got to work on pulling the trigger faster as well.

Why in the world are we talking about getting Mason more shots now when we are in the A-10 schedule. Seems to me, you work on that in November and December. We have no mid-range game. It's either the two little guards charging into the lane and throwing up woeful shots or Ovie charging into the lane taking woeful shots. There is no high post play to kick the ball back out. Our passing is not crisp enough to get someone free. LaSalle repeatedly worked the ball inside out and had men open. Jones, Jones, Gill, Watkins, nothing. I see another 1-15 unless we can beat the Bonnies.

Yeah, maybe. But coach seems to get it, even if the players don't. Gotta move the ball much faster around the top. But not every screen has to be a ball screen. Back pick! The post offense is not there yet. I'm not going to be a back in the day guy, but back in the day, Manning had a drill, first team on second, where the ball never hits the floor, and no shooting. You keep it for a time, you win, they tie you up or steal, they win. Round and round it goes. Miraculously, layups emerge. If you've never played anything but street ball, how can you expect to get what high-end compitition demands. You've got to win in the gym, not in retrospect.

When we hired Ferry, there was an instructional video from him on YouTube showing him teaching a motion offense.
