Offline Offline I see him as a game wrecker for our opponents, coming off the bench in the sf position and lights up the score board from beyond the arch and drives to the hoop when they come out to cover him closer on those 3's.And as you can see from these clips, this kid can move for his size. Alex Williams
Alex Williams is an interesting pick up from the transfer portal. He is a 6’5” 235 pounds muscular SF. It is interesting that he predominately played the 2/3 slot for his three years at Furman. He’s not a power forward as some might think given his build. Williams is a very high percentage three-point shooter. He shot 36% from three-point range in 2022-23, and 40% this year for a career-best 59 three pointers made. 57% of his shots were three pointers last season. He would have ranked third on this years team in three points made behind Dae Dae 83 and Clark 67. The next closest DU player would have been Kareem with 37. Career stats in link below.
Alex Williams - Furman Paladins Forward - ESPN
While he is a very good three-point shooter he can drive the ball and score inside. His overall FG% was 47% in 2022-23 and 44% in 2023-24.
I see Alex as a key contributor next season. I am not even going to attempt to guess minutes or starting line ups as gigsr pointed out in another thread, “you can see there's going to be a battle royale for starting positions.”
