Offline If what I am hearing is correct, Monday night is going to be crazy in Pittsburgh. Harris will be at Point St Park from 3-7pm, and rumor is Trump is at PPG arena. So just plan accordingly if going to our opener, which is what matters most! Last edited by townsonkid (11/01/2024 9:52 am) Offline Well, if both of those are in the evening, there will be no parking. Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll be watching ESPN+ from home. Offline I'm sure the local news stations will talk about it constantly b/w now and then. Didnt say the time of the event at PPG. Hopefully its in the morning or afternoon. Offline I heard that trump's rally would be in the evening, but it is not definite yet. Just keep checking the PPG site or the news. I might just stay home in any case. Parking at DU parking garage is for DU ticket holders only per DU today. You will need to show your game tickets to get into the garage so that's not a problem. Come early stay late. I just bought the women's game tickets and plan to spend a great day at Duquesne. Go Dukes !!! And besides, the weather for Monday is about 73 degrees, just a great day to get there early and spend the day at Duquesne, just saying. You can enter the parking garage at anytime before the game so go early, they are only letting game ticket holders in that garage so come early, lots of activities at DU for the tip-off and DU will let Men's ticket holders in at half-time of the women's game, but I just bought the women's tickets too. So, just make a day of it. Offline More information: Trump's campaign confirmed that he will deliver remarks at a rally at PPG Paints Arena on Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. Offline More information: Trump's campaign confirmed that he will deliver remarks at a rally at PPG Paints Arena on Monday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. As a season ticket holder, I got a e-mail stating, only ticket holders will get into our parking lot. I trust that DU will make our parking available to us first. Heck, they had better, LOL. Offline How are they going to prevent those folks from coming in and parking at 2:00 PM!!! Offline How are they going to prevent those folks from coming in and parking at 2:00 PM!!! Great point FAM... Online! How are they going to prevent those folks from coming in and parking at 2:00 PM!!! From the email sent to season ticket holders, it appears that they will be monitoring the garage entrance most of the day. Offline In an effort to be positive and not throw anyone under the bus, this is what I found out personally regarding Monday night from two folks in the athletic office. Offline I don’t see where the problem. Put a large sign up before the parking garage entrance -Private Parking-Duquesne U only. Have a person check credentials prior to garage entrance. Others who enter can turn around in the surface lot adjacent to the garage. Offline … IF they put up a sign and IF they check for tickets before folks get near the garage entrance because if they don’t they can’t turn around n can’t turn into the adjacent lot. Offline We are way ahead of schedule-- parking garage moaning in mid-season form. Day before the season begins and this is what passes for discussion on this board? Pathetic. Offline … IF they put up a sign and IF they check for tickets before folks get near the garage entrance because if they don’t they can’t turn around n can’t turn into the adjacent lot. You must show a ticket! That was stated clearly in the thread. Offline sorry Mike, this isn't the same. This is about a Presidential Candidate with 10-15,000 followers attending an event 5 minutes from DU on opening night with both the Women's and Men's Teams Playing. Surely you can see the difference. (no insult intended.) Offline You're right. It could be worse, like a Penguin game. Offline Harris's event was moved outside of the city and Trump's is in the afternoon. I don't see how this would be any worse than playing the same night as the pens. Offline Im driving 3 hours to watch my beloved Bluffites and so their arent any excuses for not showing up and cheering our A10 champs to victory.ALL HAUL TO THEE DUQUESNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Offline All Hail To Thee Duquesne! Offline I’m A season ticket holder and didn’t get ANY notice. Don’t know what this is going to be like especially with the city advising people not going to this rally to stay out of the city. He is scheduled to speak at 6 but my understanding is that he is rarely on time. Haven’t made a decision yet on whether to go or not. Offline Got to game 15 minutes ago Offline Thanks athletic department and parking folks. No issues parking. great job!

This kind of changes things. I hope that you're right about the Duquesne parking garage Napa. Keep checking. A no go for me. But I'm a glass half empty guy.

PARKING
To provide you the best game day experience, Parking Services is limiting parking in Forbes Avenue and Locust Street Garages to our fans and current permit holders on Monday. We encourage you to purchase your game tickets in advance. If you have a ticket to the game, please be prepared to show the attendant at the parking garage. Any fans who do not yet have tickets, inform the attendant you’re here for the women’s or men’s basketball games. You can get your tickets at goduquesne.com/tickets .
FORBES PARKING GARAGE
Forbes Avenue Parking Garage will be accessible as normal. Fans wishing to park here will head east on Forbes Avenue to the primary entrance approximately 400 feet from the intersection of Chatham Square and Forbes Ave.
Re: Monday night
1. I received positive and kind responses from two folks in the athletic department with my questions over the weekend
2. They do not control the parking garage; however, with that said they were told by the University Police and parking garage folks that they will do everything they can to only have the following groups be permitted to use the garage: a. students. b. those with parking passes. c. those that are attending the game
This statement above causes me pause: "Any fans who do not yet have tickets, inform the attendant you’re here for the women’s or men’s basketball games. You can get your tickets at goduquesne.com/tickets." How is anyone going to be able to tell if someone is going to the game if they haven't bought their tickets. This is illogical and can NOT be enforced. Folks will lie and say they are going just to park there. Phoenix, I don't want to burn any communication bridges...maybe you can ask this question of them.
My concern is if they let folks enter the turn in from the street, and then find out they are none of those, how are they going to be able to turn around and leave. I did not receive an answer to that and sometimes when speaking with departments at Duquesne, I get the feeling they don't want to ask the hard questions of other departments (my opinion.). So, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I am going to go to the game as a season ticket holder, bring a friend who hasn't been to the game in years, and give them an opportunity to show how the athletic department, etc. has advanced to another level of making effective decisions regarding the teams and the fans. I'll let everyone know after the game Monday night.

Re: Monday night
Plus, if you ask if they are going to the game that does not solve the issue of them saying yes just to park there.
We shall see…

Re: Monday night
Levon, again, no insult intended. Please go back and read what Phoenix Rising 2 said in his post..."Any fans who DO NOT YET HAVE TICKETS, INFORM the attendent you're here for the women's or men's basketball games."
If one goes by that, folks don't have to show the tickets.
Again, just going by what was written above and what I was told!! Everything here doesn't have to be an argument on right and wrong...just everyone read what was written. I hope this all works out and am counting on it for I am going to the game. I will also inform those in the athletic office I was in contact with how wonderful it went when things work out. But folks, everyone needs to read the specifics...and I say again, no insult intended!
