Offline Tip-off Tuesday 11/19, 7:00 PM EST at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, PA Last edited by BluffHunter (11/18/2024 10:32 pm) Offline I like the way we've put together our schedule recently, and this game is coming at the perfect time. I fear that if we play the same way we have so far we'll lose, but I think tonight is the night Coach Joyce gets his first of what is hopefully many wins to come. Offline I am looking for Jake to have a big night. He was hurt and didn't practice for 2 months before the season started. I love this kid; he is a hard-nosed Pittsburgh kid. G Dukes! Offline I have seen lines for this game from Duquesne -5.5 to -7 Offline 3 keys: Offline 3 keys: Having watched those 3 games, I would have guessed the percentage was over 50. Lots of the 3-pointers that didn't drop ended up as put-back deuces. Offline 3 keys: Having watched those 3 games, I would have guessed the percentage was over 50. Lots of the 3-pointers that didn't drop ended up as put-back deuces. Lots of damage done late in the shot clock. Offline Duquesne might be the worst team in the A10. Offline This is brutal to watch. Offline Nothing to like so far. Offline Play Dambrot players, and Wilborn, the other transfers are awful. Offline Play Dambrot players, and Wilborn, the other transfers are awful. Yes, all these big numbers transferring in and ...nothing. Offline Play Dambrot players, and Wilborn, the other transfers are awful. Yes, all these big numbers transferring in and ...nothing. I was so wrong about the players brought in with the exception of Wilborn maybe, and perhaps Williams who hasn't played because of injury. Rozier and Necas just look lost right now. Bad mix of players on the court by Dru. I know he's trying to figure it out, but why in the world is the Dixon/Wilborn not on the court at the same time? Not a good start for Dru and the Dukes. Hopefully, a couple of these transfers step up already. Dixon needs to be fed often. Get him away from the frontcourt. Setting picks out front when nobody feeds him on the roll. Offline Hard to believe Edwards was freshmen of the year in the A-10 a few years ago. Offline Dimichele is special. He should rarely come off the floor. Offline Jake is. They have some of the pieces. I have to believe Dru is trying to get everybody minutes to sort this out and shorten the bench as the season progresses. Offline Dimichele is special. He should rarely come off the floor. Anyone else on this board that thought we might be 0-4 at this point? Offline No. And these are also not quality opponents. Offline Definitely didn’t see them cutting it to 4 with a chance in less than a minute. Offline Definitely didn’t see them cutting it to 4 with a chance in less than a minute. Absolutely awful 4 games. Great play by Jake tonight. Where are the other players???? Offline Good news tonight. Dinkins has to be the Dukes point guard. Sooo obvious. Kareem good kid but it’s obvious at this point. Why was Kareem playing the 2 spot when Dinkins was point or another guard Horansky, should have been at the 2 spot at crunch time. I love Wilburn. Dixon MIA? This team has talent but Coach Dru step up your game. Dinkins at point could right the ship. Very positive night if Coach Joyce wakes up & sees the obvious. Offline Good news tonight. Kareem a 10-15 minute guy off the bench. DIxon needs much more playing time. Corbett less, Wilburn more. Edwards end of bench, Hronsky more. DiMichelle 30 minute guy. Dru needs to step up. Hopefully, Alex Willams and Barre get in the mix soon and Necas steps his game up. Offline Jake is. They have some of the pieces. I have to believe Dru is trying to get everybody minutes to sort this out and shorten the bench as the season progresses. Jake is special. He kept us in the game. He can drive and score, hit 3's and FT's and way more important, he finds the open man. Coach Dru might want to give Jake a look at point. He has the best court vision, and desire to win like no one else on the team. He also has the sense to steal the ball. Necas and Dixon's numbers would go way up with a point guard that passes like he does. It's early in non-conf. and this season is going down fast unless Coach finds a point guard that can run this offense. I can't beleive he didn't even start this game. A returning starter from one of the best teams in DU history. Last edited by NapaDuke (11/19/2024 10:32 pm) Offline Just an observation, but once again, this team does better on the run than slow half-court. In the last 5 plus minutes, this team pushed the action, and scored more points in less time than any other time in the game. They cause their opponent to make mistakes, and they used their talent to out play them. It's clear this team has way more talent on the move than standing still. And Jake was a very big part of that fast play. Heck, put at point and let these kids run some. These Dukes even pulled up on potential transition bucket to set up half-court? Really, we are behind, but choose to chew up clock? Just drive to the hoop. You score, or they foul you. But you saved time on the clock. Just a thought. Offline Just a complete lack of production from the post players. Have any of them been in double figures all year? On top of no offensive production they are getting beat badly on the glass. I expected a big step up from Dixon and Necas and they have both regressed. Dinkins and DeMichele are the only two guys that brought any game tonight. At 0-4 against 4 bad teams it is tough to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Dambrot brought this team out of the dark ages and I really don't want to go back but this team is starting to give me Darelle Porter/Danny Nee vibes. At this point we are looking like the worst team in the A-10.

Sidenote, Ellis Cannon is complaining about a call FOR the Dukes. This guy never ceases to surprise me.
Re: Game Thread - Milwaukee Panthers
Tough to watch though.
