I can’t believe Duquesne is favored by -9.5 at the time of writing this comment. I wouldn’t have this team picked to win against ANYONE right now. They truly look like one of the worst teams in D1. 

Can anybody find live stats? Either way pretty good first half. Chabi has been playing very well and cleaning up down low. Only giving up 19 points is something to feel good about too. Seems like stats are an issue in the gymnasium too. The Dukes thought they had a foul to give at the end of the half because around the arena it said the Dukes had 5 fouls. It was actually a 1-1.

Chabi has impressed.  Playing like an old school big man.  Halftime of game 7 and I’m calling it - Corbett is done.  If Dru keeps running him out there especially as a starter then it’s clear to me he was promised playing time and Dru is keeping that promise. He’s giving this team nothing and the biggest reason they are 0-6.  I keep waiting for him to be the player he was advertised as and it’s not happening.  Why does he keep getting so much run?

Jake fouled intentionally because the scoreboard and TV broadcast showed that the Dukes only had 5 team fouls. Surprise!!  Cost the Dukes 2 points.

Alright, good job, got a W.   Come home, get ready for some teams we can beat, and lets start rolling.   Maybe run off 7 in a row to get some respect back before A10 play begins.  

Certainly didnt want the streak continuing any longer.   they can come back up here feeling better than an 0-3 trip.   Something to build on.

Let's Go Dukes !!!

The Dukes beat the press today by pushing the ball up court to some easy scores. Burn a few teams with that and we'll see less of it. Also, some good interior play today. We out rebound this team. and shot 72 % from the free throw line. 31 % three point attempts. 47 % over all. That's enough to win most games. And the minutes played were more even this game.

Watched the game on replay. ODU not a good team. Necas got 5 minutes. Jacob probably one of the best 3 point shooters on this team. Wish he would be selfish like “fill in the blank”. No way a forward or center could guard him in a man to man. As I said on prior post Matues 3 minutes. Guess I was right. After this 0-6 start how can Coach Dru since summer practice sessions not play the proper rotations. Again ODU not a good team. Necas needs to be more selfish. At least he plays defense, rebounds & provides assist.

ODU is not good. Neither is Hampton. Concerning that those games were so tough for the Dukes. At least they were able to close it out against ODU without any drama at the end. Positive sign.  Matus played a lot yesterday, at least 20 minutes.  Not sure how you are getting 3 minutes unless I’m misunderstanding. 

Necas is not one of the best 3 point shooters on this team. His career percentage is under 33% and he’s been terrible this year.  I think he needs to be inside presence and stop shooting 3s.  Perhaps he can improve and become one of the best on the team but for now, he’s hurting the team on the perimeter. I like Jakob and have high hopes for him but I do not understand the love affair with him on this board.  I know I got flack for minimizing his accomplishments over the summer but I stand by them.  That was an under 19 year old European tourney he dominated.  Those teams were not the quality of player or opponent he will face in the A-10.  But of course it’s a great sign that he played well.  He’s still learning and is young.  I love his defense and with his size he should be getting rebounds and facilitating offense.  Maybe then his shot will come around.
Matus, on the other hand, is a year further along and his shot is clearly improving. Right now I’d rather see Matus chucking 3s than Necas. 

I think Dinkins is the best 3 point shooter on the team

Hello previous post. SDST game Matus 2 minutes. Yes I was wrong 2 instead of 3. Second point it’s about matchups. A 4 or 5 can’t guard Necas  on the perimeter. Dinkins is not the best 3 point shooter. He is a slasher. Finally, why did the new Kentucky coach pursue Necas if he was playing against garbage in Europe. I’m sorry but watching these last 6 games was pure undisciplined AAU basketball.
