Re: Game Thread - Loyola Chicago Ramblers

Really fun night of A10 hoops tonight. VCU won at Dayton, story of the game being a 12-0 VCU run; full court pressing. 59-54 Dayton with 4:54 to go to 66-59 VCU with 1:06 to go. Crazy stuff. 73-68 VCU. The Saint Louis at Saint Joseph's game was entertaining as well. Saint Joe's pulled out the win over a Robbie Avila and Co. from SLU, although Gibson Jimerson did get injured in the first half. SLU-Joe's was also back and forth, and close until around 5 minutes to go when Joe's kicked the door open, getting the 76-63 win.

After tonight, Loyola technically holds the double bye spot at the moment. The middle of this league is such a cluster.

A10 Standings:
1. George Mason (9-1)
2. VCU (9-2)
3. Saint Louis (7-4)
4. Loyola Chicago (5-4)
5. Dayton (6-5)
6. Saint Joseph's (5-5)
6. UMass (5-5)
8. Saint Bonaventure (5-6)
9. Rhode Island (4-6)
9. George Washington (4-6)
9. La Salle (4-6)
9. Duquesne (4-6)
13. Davidson (3-6)
14. Fordham (3-7)
14. Richmond (3-7)

Re: Game Thread - Loyola Chicago Ramblers

Any word on Chabi? Need 3 centers because Wilburn who I like will put The Ramblers on the foul line five minutes into each half. This game is huge if the Dukes are going to get hot prior to the A10 tournament. If they once again lose bottom 4 A10 standings.

I think it’s time for Max to take his spot as the go to scorer on this team. 25+ a game from here on out

It does save you a click but it’s an opinion article based not solely on metrics (for example he writes #9 bamisile is a metrics darling for sites like KenPom, where he is ranked #2)

Big win by the Dukes tonight. Hoping the team can build on this won and finish strong. Go Dukes 🏀

Re: Game Thread - Loyola Chicago Ramblers

So I guess coaching isn’t the problem. Apparently the Dukes have the least talent in the conference.

Well I posted a message of optimism after the game but it did not hit.  Anyway congrats to the Dukes for a difficult win.

Re: Game Thread - Loyola Chicago Ramblers

I still believe Dru and the Dukes can turn this thing around or i'm at least hoping. It would be nice to guys step up, especially Necas and Hronsky. Think those two are a big key if the Dukes are going to start playing up to their capabilities. Want to see some Edwards, Dixon, and Wilborn on the court at the same time for once. Go Dukes!

Played better. Nearly hit 70 pts, but held Loyola to 56. Nice to see Necas come alive this game. Got a week off to get set for Dayton.

Not sure what the issue with post approvals was… I think we should be back to normal now thanks to CLK’s quick diagnosis

Yes good win, Necas came up big. Still needs to drive to the hoop more. Wanted to tear what's left of my hair out when he gave up the ball a few times when he had open lanes to the hoop. Hope the coaches see that 20 games plus into the season. Easy layups right to the hoop.

Re: Game Thread - Loyola Chicago Ramblers

Fantastic game from the Dukes and a good energetic crowd tonight (except the students who either don't show up or only cheer for free fries). The Dukes played much more uptempo, moved the ball, and gave great effort all game long. It was nice to see Necas flash some offense. Overall really good team effort. Hopefully this is the start of getting hot at the right time. There is no great team in the Atlantic 10 and if we play well we can beat anyone and if we don't play well we can lose to the dregs of the league as we have unfortunately shown the last couple weeks.

I loved seeing us dictate the pace with the press. Even with all the injuries we still have good depth. Why not use it?

Great time to get hot. Watched VCU beat  Dayton in their house. Go Dukes.
