Bordas may step in to Meg's role next year, along with Jerni and Gabby Grantham-Medley, the frontcourt will be our strength. I thought you were going to say that she was arrested for assault! Just kidding! I thought you were going to say that she was arrested for assault! Just kidding! i happened to see the episode of which you speak, Coach Burt did mention that we have commitments from a 6'5" young lady from Senegal who due to being the best shooter in the country will play shooting guard. He mentioned 2 other young ladies , both in the 6'6" range with no reference other than they are athletic and will need a bit of refinement. THANKS for sharing ghost Hopefully the “bigs” can contribute. At 6’5” the girl from Senegal can move inside on defense and provide some much needed rim protection. If he can land the “skilled player” it will allow some time for the younger players to develop. I saw Alexis play what I think was their first game of the season. She had 30 plus but took a lot of shots to get that. Hard for me to tell how good the opposition was. She wasn't shy about chucking it up from deep. She is the best player on her team, and it is not unusual for her to be the one taking a high number of shots, especially from deep. I remember when Gina Naccarato was a high school player and she was the same, shotting the majority of the shots by her team, but from my recollection a lot of her points came on layups because her team forced so many turnovers. When Naccarato got to Duquesne she played more point guard and was more of a distributor than a gunner like high school. Last edited by DU90 (3/09/2025 10:41 am)

Re: Update on Alexis Bordas
Need to add quality size at least one PF (6-2 or taller) and one true C (6-3 or taller). •

Re: Update on Alexis Bordas
Regarding “size” for next season, I thought I heard Dan on the “CoachesShow” with Tim Benz say that he has three “bigs” slated for the roster next season! One 6’5” and two others around 6’3”! I was shocked to hear this since it’s the first I’ve heard this from any source.
Perhaps I fell asleep and was dreaming for an instant! Let me know if anyone can confirm or refute this information.

Coach Burt is also close to securing another commitment from another 6'5" young lady who "has a high skill level".
Take it for what it is worth.

Sounds promising, but you never know about recruits until you get them in the gym.

Re: Update on Alexis Bordas
At the next level, I expect Bordas to be a combo guard who will provide a deadly outside shooter on the perimeter.
As for the unknown player from Senegal, if she is indeed 6-6, I hope we take advantage of her size and develop her overall game. I like that she is supposed to be a great shooter, but if she's going to be out on the perimter and not playing foul line in, then we will waste her size.
Until I see the full roster for next year, with these "additional" players, I fully expect us to have a losing season. From the little playing time she got this year, I am encouraged by Fatou Sane as she has the perfect build to play the 4. If -- and this is a big IF, the coaching staff can develop her game, get her to move sided to side on the block and work on getting to the right angles when she shoots, she will be a force inside. Her offensive game was impressive for the little time she got, especially after she was regarded more of a defensive player coming in.
My concern is Burt's inability to put the best talent on the floor - his substitution and use of players in-game is extremely questionnable. •
