Don’t take this to the bank, but I think that the Dukes can lock down the #7 seed with a win on Saturday at Saint Louis. They would finish 9-9 in conference and tie with GW and possibly the Bonnies. The Dukes own the outright tiebreaker with GW from beating them. If there is a 3 way tiebreaker, I think the Dukes win that one too based on their 2-1 record against GW/Bona; GW has a 1-1 record vs Dukes/Bona and Bona has a 1-2 record against the Dukes/GW.
A Dukes loss can drop them as low as 10th place (and no bye). The Dukes start losing the tiebreakers angainst other potential 8-10 record teams. In a way, the A10 tourney starts on Saturday for the Dukes.

Duquesne will get the bye with a UMass loss on Saturday vs. Loyola. They play Saturday in Amherst at 12:30.

Yep, but a UMass win and a Dukes loss puts the Dukes in the 10 seed (if I am following the tiebreakers correctly).

Yes. I believe you are correct.

Yes, that's right, win Saturday and the Dukes are the #7 seed. Lose and they are either 9th, if UMass loses, or 10th, if UMass wins. They win the head-to-head tiebreaker against GW or a three-way tiebreaker with GW and Bonaventure. They lose head-to-head against Bonaventure or UMass or a three-way tiebreaker with Bonaventure and UMass. The seventh seed gets them a first round bye, then a second-round game against a team that played the day before, then George Mason in the quarterfinals. The ninth seed will give them a second round game against Bonaventure, then VCU in the quarterfinals. And the 10th seed puts them in the play-in round against Fordham or LaSalle with GW and George Mason to follow. So a path to the semifinals if they can win three games in three days. Best to win Saturday and get the 7th seed.

Thanks for the details, DennisC91. One other thing, the Dukes-Billikens game is the final A10 game on Saturday. By that time, the Billikens may already be locked into the 6 seed regardless of the outcome of the Dukes game. I think Saint Louis is still alive for the 4 seed, but only if VCU, Loyola and St. Joe’s all lose and then they beat the Dukes.

Loyola up by 22 with 12 minutes left for the first round bye to go the Dukes.

Loyola beat UMass. DU stays out of first round.

It's great to not have to play in the first round, but today is still important. With a win, we'll get the 7 seed and have a likely path through URI and George Mason; both of whom we beat easily. If we lose, we'll get the 9 seed and face St. Bonaventure and VCU; both of whom beat us in the last few weeks. If we're going to win the tourney we'll probably have to beat VCU and Dayton at some point. An easier path, and winning some games, before doing so would be nice though.
