Looks like the best possible scenario is shaping up for the league in the A-10 tournament. SJU is listed as first four out now. I don’t think there is any realistic chance for the A10 to get three. So either St Joes or Mason will be out. We should have been playing yesterday instead of Richmond. And by the way, Richmond had their version of Kiaku last year who transferred to UNC this year.

A-10 Tournament
I think Richmond was in Regardless.
With a really comfortable win today MIGHT have been just enough to get GM in even if they lose (but don't get blown out tomorrow).
St. Joes obviously needs to win tomorrow -- and if they do they could probably represent the league as well as GMU might have done if GMU misses out.

Re: A-10 Tournament
I’d love to see 3 teams in though.

Re: A-10 Tournament
A good coach would have seen the advantages of having a guard that can penetrate at will and would have schemed to have both Kiaku and McConnell drive all day against their bigger guards, who couldn't defend our speed and penetration.
Add to it that Brown was a BEAST on the block in 2nd half, we should have been doing that all game and the end result is that Richmond would have been forced to adjust and likely would have been in foul trouble. We needed to attack their defense - which was slow and couldn't guard either Jerni or Meg on the drive.
Sometimes basketball is easy - take your advantage of your strengths, penetration and feed the block. You can get a layup or work inside out for an unconested 3.
We didn't do much of that at all. We should have won that game by 10+ and would have if we had a good coach and not what we have in Burt.

Re: A-10 Tournament
We couldn't stop her dribble penetration last year, but they don't have a guard like that this year and they will struggle in the tournament because of it. But they have a very good coach who will figure out a way to overcome that - his offense is free-flowing with a lot of player movement that lead to cuts to the hoop and open looks from 3.
Oh to have him on our sideline instead of Burt...
