Transfer portal

So far, we have not lost anyone to the portal, but it is still early.

I have been checking out Raoul's twitter page (https://x.com/Raoul_000?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) and have seen some interesting prospects enter the portal.

Losing Brown and Hutcherson means we have a big gap in the middle and need size.  Until we see something official from Duquesne that we have signed additional players that may or may not be 6-5, 6-6, I am going to assume we have open scholarships.

One name that caught my eye - Caitlin Weimar out of NC State.  Previously she played at Boston University (https://goterriers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/caitlin-weimar/24814).  I have no idea if we have made any effort to recruit her in the past, I do think getting an experienced post and former ROY in her conference would be a worthy candidate to bring to Duquesne.

Two other players in the portal I think we should be looking at are Katie Davidson and Faith Stinson from IU-Indianapolis:
https://iuindyjags.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/katie-davidson/8059
https://iuindyjags.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/faith-stinson/8064

This team is going be very inexperienced next year and bringing in some veteran players will be important.  Personally I think Burt busting his ass, kicking all the tires for players is a necessity because he should be sitting on the hottest seat in the conference and his job should be on the line.

Re: Transfer portal

More players starting to enter transfer portal - here is Raoul's transfer blog that is updated regularly: https://wbbblog.com/womens-basketball-transfers-d-i-2024-25/

Some players that I would like to see us pursue as we will be very inexperienced next year.  I would like for us to make every effort to look to add a veteran guard and at least one or two post players.  Some of the players from the bigger conferences may be looking to downgrade for more playing time and some players from similar type programs may be looking for an upgrade and more exposure or just a change.

It never hurts to kick the tires to see if there is any mutal interest.

I also suspect we could see at least one or more of our players enter the portal too.
