For what it is worth Richmond DESTROYED Georgia Tech It was a good win for the conference. Last edited by DU90 (3/21/2025 10:09 pm) It was a good win for the conference. DU90, you do have a lot of good points, but I think we get it by now. I truly do value the valuable conversation you bring, but you’re beating a horse that you have already hit too many times. I would stop beating the dead horse, but after watching us struggle to beat Longwood and making the same mistakes again, it's hard not to point to the obvious and ask did we learn anything from the previous game (Richmond) and implement what worked into the game plan against Longwood? And I don't think we did, because it was the same game plan as always and we needed a miracle to win. No point in playing the what-if game, but we could have just as easily lost to Longwood. Re: Richmond CLOBBERED Georgia Tech
But the point still remains. Burt BLEW the game by not having his 5 best players on the floor at the end of the game. Rousell outcoached Dan, his defense walled up our perimeter knowing that Kiaku was not on the floor, which took away the dribble-drive penetration that would have challenged his defense.
On the offensive end, Rousell once again showed his superior coaching ability to Burt by crashing the bords as we only had one legit big while they at least 3 players 6-0 or taller to rebound, which of course they easily did on the missed shot for a putback basket that put them ahead for good.
We should have been punishing them from the beginning of the game by pounding the ball inside and letting Jerni attack at will. They would have been forced to foul because as good as they are, Richmond didn't have the athleticism to stop Kiaku or prevent Brown from owning the post. If Burt starts the game with this in mind, Richmond would have been done. Again, my proof is the fact the 2nd half play by both players.
I stand by it now as I said the day of the game, we should have beaten them by at least 10 or more. If you don't believe me go back and watch the game, listen to the commentators talk about the dominant play from Kiandre Brown inside and also how Richmond couldn't defend Jerni Kiaku.

Re: Richmond CLOBBERED Georgia Tech
So yeah, I was pretty pissed off watching a team that we should have beaten run circles around Georgia Tech while we struggle to beat Longwood. And in case you didn't pay attention, we were outcoached for most of the game last night...by Longwood. We ran the same crap offense of throwing the ball around the perimter without looking inside the paint. Even Rachel Zimmerman commented that we can't ignore the paint.
So apparently, the horse isn't dead yet!
One final point, don't attack the messenger if you don't like the message.
