Per Duq Twitter. PG out of Ohio. Duquesne picks up another undersized guardNot many programs have done better with undersized guards than Duquesne as Kareem Rozier appeared in 32 games as a freshman standing at just 5’9. In the 2021-22 season, 5’11 guard Jackie Johnson started 11 games as a freshman. Finally, in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, 5’8 guard Tavian Dunn-Martin averaged double figures per game standing at just 5’8. Walnut Ridge guard Dominique Aekins If he is Dominique Aekins from the Cincinnati area, he was honorable mention All Ohio boys basketball team last year. He is a 5'9" guard. He's from Columbus and averaged 29 per game as a junior. He's from Columbus and averaged 29 per game as a junior. Averaging 17.2 pts. and 5.5 A after 6 games. Looks like he doesn't have to do most of the scoring this year 2 other kids combine for 31 points, Was there ever an announcement on this signing by the school? Looks like he can handle the ball and make stuff happen, we need that. There are MANY undersized guards… we need an excellent one who isn’t undersized. Is he still committed to DU? Please get an 6”2 point guard 26 years old transfer. You can’t win with an undersized point guard. Assuming Dinkins does return, we also have Brandon Marshall and Jake DiMichele as returnging players at the guard position, whether we have Lawson or not. I do hope Dinkins will come back and we will likely know in the next 24 hours as the portal opens up tomorrow and the expectation is that it is going to be the wild west. Last edited by DU90 (3/23/2025 2:59 pm) Amen FAM and Iron Duke!!! I am so tired of recruiting undersized PG's that are not A-10 talent level. Please, please, please DRU, go get a legit A-10 sized PG!!!! Lawson is a PG and listed at 6’2” Hopefully Lawson is coming then. I like 6'2" PG. The only thing better than a 6'2'' PG is a 6'3'' or a 6'4'' PG!
GOOD LUCK DU WOMEN in NIT

will hope to continue that success that small guards have had under head coach Keith Dambrot in Pittsburgh.
His only other D-1 offer was from Youngstown State

Re: Dominique Aikens signed
I have mixed feelings about this. I have watched a good bit of him & genuinely believe that he has the tools & mentality to be a solid A-10 contributor. On the other hand, I hate that the PG inventory next season will be made up of 2 freshmen & Rozier because that most likely means that Kareem will once again get way too much playing time.
Does anyone have any intel on how Lawson's legal troubles might play out?

Re: Dominique Aikens signed
I really want the players on the roster to stay, but it is not likely to happen and expect some departures, and have no clue as to who stays, but if anything, we also expand to 15 scholarships next year so there are going to be some new players for certain.
