I have NEVER seen a D1 team shoot under 50% on layups. How is it even possible?
Soko, a layup on a breakaway? DUNK THE DAMN BALL!
Online!
We should be up a half of dozen. Got a bad feeling about the 2nd half.

Do we have a bunch of guys with tiny hands or something? Do they not shoot layups in practice? Sorry, just venting. Three blown layups in a row. Go in with authority and throw the damned thing down.

Where's my friend grammudder? I hope today's shooting performance isn't what you meant by "brick by brick."

It will be interesting to see how many turnovers our point guards had today.

Not a single assist between Colter and Ridenhour.

In fairness, Mason only got to take what, 5-6 shots? McKoy took 3 I think. Colter took a step back today again, hoisting away at will (1-10).

Duquesne never seemed to get into offense, McCoy missed his shots and in second half it didn't seem any set plays for Mason. This is a bad match up for the Dukes, other than Mason we have non A-10 guards.

Sadly I agree Phil. I think Mason is solid and Ridenour may develop, but we need to upgrade our guards. Also, are Lewis and Watkins that bad that JF can not find some minutes for their devedlopment.

Ridenour's turnover spree in the first half was really distressing.
Mason's 3 point shooting ability demands that plays be run for him. Force the opponents to run junk defenses like the box and one to shut him down.and it will open up the inside for better shots and the trips to the foul line that Ferry loves so. Right now he seems to be third option at best behind Soko and Colter.

Coulter was recruited by Ferry as an NEC
guard while he was head coach of LIU and sadly in the A-10' he is a NEC guard.

Does Robert Morris belong in the NEC? They seem to do OK!

They don't play an A10 schedule.
We were in desperate need of a pg after TJ and Talley bailed, and Colter was the best we could do at that late date. Seeing as how it looks as though they will make pg a priority for the next class, we may have to hope that Colter or Ridenhour improve over the summer, as we are going to be stuck with them for next year. Since Ferry has concentrated on other positions for this year's class, any pg he could land at this late date will likely be more of the same.

I think you answered your own question my friend.

Ferry's program is guard oriented. The A-10 has -- since it began to exist -- been a guard-dominated league, especially point guards. The goal is supposed to be to win the conference. I'm perplexed by the notion that Ferry and staff have not spent the past two years trying to find a better point guard. A couple months ago I provided a list of kids from NJ who have not committed who are capable of starting ahead of Colter and Ridenour. All it took was one Tweet to a sportswriter who knows his stuff.
Are we suggesting Ferry doesn't have connections in NY and NJ?
