Motor,these are all solid observations.
Even though he made some early season freshman mistakes, I really like what we saw from Aekins. He showed awesome energy, effort, aggression, & athleticism. I am not sure how much beyond spelling TG he will have to offer in the way of overall positive contributions for the next 8-10 games, but I think he will be doing many good things on a regular basis by the end of the non-con schedule.
I will be looking for a greater emphasis on entering the ball into the low post along with cleaning up the jumbled spacing with the bigs at the top of the key in the halfcourt offense on Friday night.
The defensive effort & aggression was pretty great against both Va Tech & Niagara, but less fouling is an imperative.
I am very excited about Bus & Milosevic. They seem ready to provide the quality of big man depth that no other A-10 team has.

Great opening Night
I loved how the players tried to get others involved in offense.
Things to work on
1. Turnovers despite fast pace let’s try to get that number down to 12
2. Let’s look to get the ball down low even more with the horses down there even the kick outs for threes will improve
3. Defense loved the Intensity but would like to see some zone mixed in maybe a 1-3-1 zone trap and how about some full court pressure
4. Run the high low offense a bit more especially since we are seeing 2 bigs on court frequently
Go Dukes take down Sacred Heart

I was pleased with what I saw on Monday. We might just have a very good team this season.
I'm wondering about zone defense also. Does anyone know if any zone was played during the scrimmage or exhibition? Certainly it's been worked on in practice. Will we see it during the next two home games? Or will it be saved until the Villanova game to be brought out as a surprise when the game situation calls for it? We will see.

I feel like the Dukes played 3 maybe 4 possessions of zone at about the 4 minute mark of the 2nd half against Va Tech.
However, I wouldn't swear to it because that was the far end of the court from the gent who so generously live streamed it for us & it was difficult to see.
