Added that info. Thanks!

Another team from the MAAC; Sacred Heart projected to finish in upper third of league whereas Niagara was projected to finish at or near the bottom.
Just hearing that the beat the Merchant Marine Academy brought back memories/nightmares of our old coach, Danny Nee; who coached them for a few years after the Dukes parted ways with him.

Line is up to 12½.

Expecting the Pioneers to be hoisting the 3 ball tonight, Half of their first game shots were 3.s and they hit almost 40% of them.

Kind of accustomed to seeing the running score of the game while watching. What's up with ESPN?

Team shoots like they’re all blindfolded.

Hoping for a better performance in the second half.

Your hope was fulfilled, Rick.

They were tested and responded well.

My pitt friend said they had a scoreboard on their game. So not having one was Duquesne’s fault?
Glad it was a close game until the last 4 minutes. Need some pressure moments.
Hughley was beastly.

I gave the 12 1/2.

These are ESPN in name only. Duquesne is in charge of the production. There were no graphics all game. Not really a shock then.
At the opener, the scoreboard at the game didn’t list the name of the school Niagara until well into the second half. The scoreboard listed a bunch of scrambled letters for Niagara until corrected with about 10 minutes to play.
It’s Duquesne, we can only expect so much. Lol

Mostly a forgettable game other than to say I hope we don't see that officiating crew again. It's nice when we have enough talent to have a double digit win against a team with a pulse be forgettable though. I'll credit the refs with being consistent and balanced, but there was no reason to call this game as tight as they did. I like our depth, but at some point Dru will have to tighten up the rotation. We've been very inconsistent through two games. Again it's nice that we can have some bad stretches and still come out with double digit wins, but obviously the competition level will only go up. On the other hand I love the spurtability this team has. Hopefully we won't need to too often, but it looks like if we do fall behind we have the talent and depth to get back into games. We've got to get the foul shooting figured out though. As talented as the team is, there won't be too many teams that we can just run all over. In the latter part of the non-conference and especially in conference that kind of foul shooting will cause us losses.

For what it is worth -- at one point I had the ESPN+ package on my computer and the Pittsburgh Sports Net on the television to see if EITHER had the Scoreboard and Game Clock.. PSN was about 1-2 seconds behind but NEITHER had the clock or a scoreboard.

To make that worse he challenges that possession with 12 seconds left in a game out of hand. And that call should not have been overturned. That hurts.

They are the same broadcast.

As someone who works in production, this was a mess. The one guy’s sitting his mic, the other never stops talking — mostly about the other team. But, ultimately, i can sit in Los Angeles and watch the game. Not so much for the last 30 years. So thanks to ESPN and whatever they profit for a game on this level.

I thought the coach subbed in too early with five different players that stopped our momentum in the first half. I thought he did a better job in the second half especially keeping everyone out of foul trouble early. The refs called too many fouls on little contact but they were consistent and hurt both teams. I think last years team would have lost tonight, but this team is way deeper in talent and won by a decent score. The game at Villanova is the big one to see how good this team is.

Josh Taylor’s microphone was bad the entire game. And Ellis Cannon rambled on about shepherd’s pie and uncontrollable vomit in the second half.

What a strange game. Never really got into a true rhythm.

I can't imagine that Max saw himself in his current role for his senior year/5th overall year in college, but I feel good about the role he has played in these first 2 games.
If he scores 8-10 points a game over 16-18 minutes a night while being a tough rebounder & shrewd facilitator who takes great care of the ball, he will be among the highest-contributing bench players in the league.
I think the more the Dukes run, the more easy baskets & foul shots he will get. I believe in him as a FT shooter despite tonight's 1-4 performance.
