🤔🤔🤔 No line on FanDuel. If anything I would question Sacred Hart especially at the end of the game. Coach challenged the out of bounds call which was overturned. Game over why run a 3 point play🤔 Oh yeah line went 105 to 12.5 . I guess that’s why it’s called gambling.Go Dukes👍

Seems like tonight could actually be a close one. Or is Queens getting propped up in those rankings by having played Nova already?
Hopefully we got to Philly 3-0 and looking to pull a shocker.

It’s probably because it’s so early in the season, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such divergent rankings as Queens has.

I’m all for playing to the final whistle, but even if that call was blatantly wrong there was no reason to challenge it. The fact that even on replay I’m not sure they got it right just makes it worse. Then to find out it actually affected the line just looks fishy. If it wasn’t a relatively obscure game I’d expect it to be on bad beats on SportsCenter.

Queens was picked win the ASUN Conference (Florida Gulf Coast, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama, Austin Peay, etc.) by the coaches; media had them picked 3rd. #11 Chris Ashby was picked as the ASUN preseason player of the year. #1 Nasir Mann had 21 points against Villanova, shooting 9-11 from the field (only 1 three pointer). They have some players, but it doesn't look like much depth. They don't rebound the ball well and they are prone to a high rate of turnovers, while not forcing many. I'm hoping that our depth and size can wear them down; our taller guards should be able to match up pretty well with Queens.

The disparity surprised me as well.

Just two more points of reference, Evan Miya has the Dukes winning 84-71 and KenPom has it 83-72 for the Dukes. So it looks like Haslam has the outlier.

Haslam dropped us 6 spots after our win against Sacred Heart.

Interestingly, Kareem Rozier was the starting point guard in the loss to Winthrop for Queens. Was just revisiting where all the old guys went from last year, honestly all some pretty decent programs (Winthrop, Akron, Portland, JMU, GWU).
Always fun to see how those guys do as well. Rozier averaging 31.5 minutes and 10 points through the first two. Saw Wilburn is glued to the bench at JMU, same with Chabi at Akron through 2. Akron and JMU opened up against each other, Wilburn played 4 minutes and Barre was a DNP. Dinkins at GWU got 18 mins off the bench against Maine with 3 points and then 27 mins and 22 points off the bench in a win against USF (Florida). Hronsky in the WCC at Portland has started 3 games and contributed across the stat sheet. They are 3-0

FYI this an an 8 o’clock game. Not sure if it is due to the Paul McCartney concert tonight at PPG.

Sacred Heart is giving Villanova a game right now. Could make our win against them even better, and i think we have a real shot at winning in Philly on Saturday.

Oops. My mistake. That is why the start time is 8, thiugh

Wow I turned the Villanova game off for like 5 minutes and now they’re up 43-21. Oh well

Well they’ve worked out the audio issue. It’s worse.

Everything runs better when Necas is this aggressive. Great entry pass to Big John too running some point forward.

Dukes look really good and balanced. My tv volume is on 93 and I can barely hear them. Then commercial comes and my speakers blow out. Some things change, some things stay the same.
Ellis Cannon continuing to be insufferable and make obtuse comments. All I want for Christmas is a new color analyst.

0-9 from 3…. Yikes. Hopefully they’re saving up all the 3’s for Nova on Saturday.

Wow. Aside from Hugley, this team does not loot good at all. If we play like this on Saturday Nova will win by 30 plus

No way this game should be in OT. Better find some consistency or this is going to be a tough start. Hoping coach is just trying to see different looks.

Nail biter for sure. Once again, I thought DJ subs in too early in the game with two or three players and it breaks the momentum. Max was solid again in the second half and Hugley was great. I thought that too many lobs to Hugley were too easy to intercept. They got to fix that. But a win is a win.

Wins are always good. Learning how to get your head back on straight & not giving up after blowing a big lead is something all championship teams need to do provided coughing up the advantage doesn't become a trend.
Guinyard had a bad shooting night from all areas of the court, but he facilitated well, protected the ball, worked very hard on defense, & finally put it together in OT. I find all that to be very impressive.
The foul shooting has to be everyone's biggest concern.
Edwards & Aikens were wonderfully potent off the bench. That gives me great confidence. Max still hasn't turned the ball over this season.
I root very hard for Necas. Minus the fouls & foul shooting, tonight he was the player I hope he can be. I think the official scorer short changed him on 1 possibly 2 blocks.
Overall, the defensive effort was mediocre. There were certainly times when the Dukes suffocated this inferior opponent with a shorter bench, but the home team's effort was not in evidence from the opening tip all the way to the final buzzer.
Jimmy Williams's facial expressions & body language on the bench were less than optimal.
Was the crowd so small simply because the game started an hour later than normal?
