Dear Sir, Last edited by FAM (2/09/2014 8:40 am) FAM let's face it Dr Dougherty was sold a bill of goods from our AD. I have no doubt that heart is right. I believe he really wants to see the Dukes win, and to his credit he has given a lot more resource to the AD to hire a head coach and staff than was available to Ron. The problem is the AD is clueless in how to run a major basketball program. Like any CEO, however, Dr. Dougherty is ultimately responsible for his decisions but his options are limited at this point. Like all of us I would think he is disappointed with the results so far this season, but is committed to giving Coach Ferry a chance to provide some hope and evidence that he can be the next level coach at Duquesne that Amodio hired him to be. At this point he really has no other choice. I have to wonder, however, if Amodio is feeling the heat? Last edited by CLK (2/09/2014 12:39 pm) Feeling the heat it's Duquesne my friend! Charlie fired the wrong guy. I just spoke to a buddy from George Mason area. He said they have been wanting to fire their coach. He said he couldn't believe Duquesne lost to them. He ended by saying that Duquesne screwed up when the AD fired RE. Said he at least had them doing better than they had in years. Will the President look for a new AD? Naw. He probably doesn't even know the teams record. Look how long BC lasted. Sad it sure seems that the program in general is moving backwards again. Any momentum we had from the Ron era is gone. The main problem though now is Amodio needs to go. I was with the team during 4 of the 5 Danny Nee years and it doesn't seem that bad currently but I am not optimistic that things are headed in the right direction. It seems like more of the losing is in store. DC you need a t-shirt ... I Survived the Nee Years. Great Letter Fam: Someone needs to send it to him with that leaked email where he ripped Everhart and ask him to do a little comparison between the Everhart era and "Danny Nee II" that this is rapidly becoming! Or better yet, how about if every disgusted fan sends that exact same letter to Dr. D, with their ripped up season ticket renewal forms (if they posess them. I don't)? If someone wants to write up a respectful letter with points I'll send one.

Have you looked at the Men's Basketball Team Lately?
Have you looked a their record in terms of wins and losses - don't be deceived.
Have you looked at the records of the teams they have beaten?
Have you looked at the teams they have lost to?
Have you looked at the players?
Have you gone to any games?
Have you seen that they have NO recruits signed for next year and this will be the third year of the current head coach and assistants?
Have you talked to the common alumni who go to the games - Not the filtered information from the folks that pay extra money on the floor. By the way, have you noticed the turnover down there? A number of the boosters didn't buy those tix and are gone. Not the athletic department employees who are getting paid. Have you talked to fans in the seats - the ones left. How about an Under Cover Boss day? Go sit among the fans - listen - ask questions.
Well, what is your next plan?

Any chance President Dougherty will make the change at AD?

I worry the program will not survive from Amodio. Just opened another big buck facility at Palumbo. Everhart won without the amenities. Jimmy Ferry has to do a better job of figuring this out. Clearly I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree but I said last year that Colter was not the right PG for a program that wants to contend. I'm thrilled he is finally recruiting a kid who can help us, and it cracks me up that some pundits view this as a change in direction. The A-10 has always been a guard-dominated conference. Our most recent moment of glory came because Aaron Jackson was a dominant player. If Ferry wants his system to work, he needs a one who is just as strong a player as AJAX was. Let's hope he lands his target this time. Granted we also need to improve on Jeremiah Jones, but I think Gill and Watkins can still become the players we need. Both have shown flashes they can be better.

It's been a while since I had seen that email. Anyone have a copy of it?
