Hope you are doing better, BluffHunter. A Dukes win would be a booster shot for you.
Duquesne is back home to face a strong a GW team that is not living up to the preseason hype. No word yet on whether their stud center, Rafael Castro, will be back today from his lower leg injury.

Latest update shows both still questionable. 4 Revs including Castro questionable. So no answer to your question.

Well, that’s AN answer. Rather not see them listed at all.

Always good to have a bench ⛹️

Tied for 5th place with Dayton and Davidson. I'll sure take it.

I don’t know if GW is that good a rebounding team or we just couldn’t figure them out but the rebounding today was frustrating. I really loved the way the we worked the ball inside and took it to the rim all afternoon. Dru must have realized GW was susceptible to getting beat in the paint because it was clearly the game plan
And, in TG, we have a player that can take over a game at any moment. Dukes rarely get one. Come tourney time with 10 minutes left in a game, he’s going to take the ball and tell everyone to get out of his way. I’m looking forward to it

A really good game wire to wire. I'm curious, did anyone note how many lead changes were in the game? It seems like 20 or more.

18 lead changes.

That was nail biter the entire game. Back and forth for 40 minutes. After we tied it up about 1/2 way through the first half I don't think either team led by more than 2 buckets until we pulled ahead with a couple minutes left. Overall the team played well. I thought everyone who played contributed and Jimmy was great in the first half and TG played fantastic down the stretch.
I have said it a few times but we are a really bad man to man defensive team. We play much better defensively in the zone. I'd love to see more zone for the rest of the year.

Every team we play seems to have decent amount of talent. No easy ones in the A10.

Great team effort in a gritty win over a good GW team. Guinyard 27 pts, J. Williams 20 pts, Dixon 17 pts, Necas 10 pts. I know I am biased, but Duquesne has the best backcourt duo in the A10. Proud of this team and Coach. Keep fighting and keep believing. Dukes Up! 🏀

Good "character" win here. This was a test to see if we are the type of team with the confidence and will to refuse to lose. This team is reminding me more and more of the team 2 years ago.

We once again have two guards who can take over a game. March is all about guard play and having Jimmy and TG gives me hope that we have shot of winning the A10. Offensively we can score with any team in the conference we have to improve on defense to beat a team like St. Louis or VCU

Quite a battle with the Revs today, but the Dukes prevailed! Some high-level offense by both teams, but TG had the last word! He just took the scoring load on his shoulders with the game in the balance.
When you see a finish like this one it reminds us how difficult it is to close out these games. The Dukes were up 8 with 1:03 to go and could have lost it on the last shot. The Dukes didn’t make any mistakes in that last minute, other than going 3-6 at the line, and that was almost enough to turn joy to sadness!

The zone can be a “change-up” defense but these teams are too good to hang your hat on the zone game after game. One big problem with a zone, and you saw it today, is that it is hard to control your defensive glass. Boxing out is much more difficult.

This was a quality win & should go far to keep the momentum going in the right direction.
I'm with CLK, this is the best all-around guard duo in the A-10. I took a few minutes after reading his post to peruse all the rosters & I came away convinced. Watching TG take over the scoring was awesome, but I also thought he was the most energized & consistent defender today.
The first 9 minutes of defense were horrendous. Against the very best that the conference has to offer, the game may have been over by then. Hall got torched during this time & needed to come out for a reset. These crap defensive starts is the next big thing that needs improvement. He was much better later.
While the Dukes were great from the line for 39 minutes & finished the game with a higher FT percentage than they have been averaging, the crunch time results were very concerning. 4 different players going 1-2 inside of a minute is disastrous. It was great to see Dixon get back on track in this area.
I am excited about the winning streak, but I am also concerned that this was so close to a heartbreaking loss against depleted opponent.

Lot of different ways to get to 6-5. I definitely would've signed up to be in 5th place through 11 at the start of the season.
Dinkins pouting over the benching was the only reminder I needed to not miss that!
Gotta win the next 2...

These last 3 games are fabulous. Looks like the team is buying into all the little things to make you a winner. Especially defense.
We seem to have finally found the right mix of players and rotations to be a winner!
Most of the credit goes to the players buying into but also to the development of our still New Head coach. Thanks Dru and staff.
I also have to echo the sentiment of others that we have the best backcourt in the. A10 and also must rank pretty high nationally also.
TG and JW are cooking and they can carry a team on their shoulders. Remind you of DaDa and Jimmy?
Let’s get the Bonnie’s next we owe them!
Go Dukes It’s February Madness!
