Would there have been a Watch Party Two Years Ago on Selection Sunday? IF so Students were probably SHIRTLESS!!!! and had their faces painted But as for the posters on the Board we are much older (and wiser??) dudes.

What a poetic ending for Mr David Dixon. Was getting completely hosed on 3 fouls, in what felt like 20 seconds, and then gets the buzzer beater tip in. We have not... played great basketball as of late, but I guess it took getting down 30 to realize, if you play at both ends at full tilt, things will start happening for you. Alex made some nice 3's in the middle of this game too, big part of the initial comeback. He's motor is always humming though lol. Was at the game today with the family, great crowd, got on the jumbo a couple times, no students but they are on break. Should get some SportsCenter love tonight once again too. But this game, was an amazing momentum boost heading into the conference tourny. Max played some solid minutes, should get some more burn next week I would hope. Play like we did in the 2nd half for the duration of the A10 tourney, magic will happen again folks. Got to travel with the team for the St Louis game, we played with them all the way till the very end. With that...we can beat anyone in this league, we just gotta play smart, don't throw up dumb 3's, and play good defense. It starts Thursday my friends, in the words of Rich Flair, Woooooo!

When Dave needs to sit for a breather, or due to fouls, I think Alex should be the replacement. He has the strength to defend in the paint, and gives you another offensive weapon on the court. Yes, we are a bit smaller, but more effective than with Big John. This also allows you to play another functional player like Max at the three. This lineup gives you a better chance to compete than a straight substitution of Big John for Dave.

Good points. Alex has earned it and I have NEVER known a player with a higher ceiling come with a lower floor than Big John.

I agree and as Dave was a true hero in this game and for 4 more years! We can’t overlook Alex contribution this year and especially this game. Without his block on the last Richmond possession the ending may not have happened!

There were so many things about Dixon's tip in that make it so special.
1. His timing and aggressiveness to get to the rim just as it bounced out. That is utter awareness of wanting to contribute even without the ball when everybody else was holding their breath to see if G's shot would go in.
2. Navigating the floor to get around the Richmond players trying to box out and his physicality to get there.
3. His awareness of the clock to just touch it in rather than grabbing the ball and slamming it home to feed his ego. That was brains and selflessness over ego. Even in slow motion it was so darn close to the light going on. (Without the technology of the light in the back board the call could have been blown).
This together with G's drive to win over LaSalle shows never count the Dukes out!!

Nobody loves Big Dave more than me and I expect big things from him on Thursday and beyond but “take over” the tournament? That’s not Big Dave territory. A-10 opener against Davidson and Saturday against Richmond is as good as it gets for Big Dave and if he plays like that we’ll be a tough out.
TG is still our player who can take over a tournament. He’s our best shot at stepping on the gas and pulling away from a team. Big Dave needs to do what he does best: block shots, grab boards, clean up misses, athletically dominate in the paint on both ends. That will free up Alex, Jimmy, and TG to handle the scoring.

We play RI then VCU? We don't open againsy Davidson? Opps, you meant the season opener and the last game. I get it. But that last game, I think showed Dave just what he is capable of. We need them all to play their best, so I hope they all tie for MVP, LOL.

I was there, as always. At half time we all thought to leave, but we all are season ticket holders, then we not only watched, but screamed our lungs out for that win. Being there every game, when no one else does, this game is burnt in our memories.

I missed the game and looked at my phone when they were down 30. I got home just in time to catch the ending and could not believe it!
I've been listening to Ray's call all my life and can't recall a better or more tense ending waiting to hear if the tip in was in time. Life stood still until Ray yelled "IT'S GOOD!'

I was there and it looked real good in real time. I was 95% sure it counted. His hand was at the backboard obviously so it was easy to see live that it was going to count
