Let’s hope things change for the better.

His numbers don’t jump off the page and bite you, but they aren’t that different from Guiyard, who we are hoping to replace. As I  said earlier I trust Dru’s judgement in the portal. I’m always evaluating and hope that judgement won’t change, but I do. I think he’s done a pretty good job so far.

Re: Recruiting News

Arness or Williams are going to have to be integral as the backup PG.

DiMichele is good enough to start when healthy. He just needs to be the fifth best player on the floor.
Hall is good enough to come off the bench if he can work on making open shots. The talent is there given his ability to make difficult shots.

Can we give LA Pratt, Makhai Valentine, and Papa Kante a look? Lean into the hometown for some available talent.
Not too educated on the Cleveland transfer market, but that is where it appears Dru pulls the most weight in hometown obviously. As seen with JWill and Hugley, Granted John not working out in the SLIGHEST, take some risks

Re: Recruiting News

The portal closing just means that a player needs to enter before April 21. Players can still sign anywhere as long as they entered the portal by April 21.

Re: Recruiting News

Valentine supposedly visiting 2 other A10 schools. He’d be a great get. Who knows if there’s been any contact. It does seem like a large portion of our talent comes solely from the Ohio area.

Before transferring to Virginia Tech, Pasha was the 2024-25 CAA Rookie of the Year at Delaware where he averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. I agree trust Dru and staff on this one. I think he would be a great fit.

Re: Recruiting News

Spending in the Transfer Portal has gone completely mad. This article highlights the madness.

Re: Recruiting News

Not entirely sure which interview or press conference it was but Dru explicitly stated that the last portal cycle was better due to being more patient.
Evident by very minimal news thus far this year, I respect that he has a plan and is sticking with it. Don't jump on the Corbett's and the Dinkins' early in the portal again. Get guys who have been surrounded by winning basketball. Alex Williams comes to mind with that.

Re: Recruiting News

I didn’t expect a rush of signings out of the gate for Duquesne.  I thought maybe one or two guys that they may have targeted and had some prior relationship with, but players want to maximize their P-4 opportunities first.  Building this roster will probably take months rather than days or weeks to get full-value for the money at Duquesne’s level.

Re: Recruiting News

5’10” PG Tijan Saine Jr. has generated a ton of interest since entering the transfer portal, currently hearing from over 15 schools. He has a visit planned for Monday to Duquesne and calls planned with Washington, Georgia Tech, USC, Kansas State, and High Point

Re: Recruiting News

I like the video on Saine Jr. it looks like he has all of the tools you would like from your point guard.  He can facilitate and score from the perimeter and can get to the hoop.  He looks like he has the strength to play the position in the A-10.
