Terrible news. Wishing the best for those closest to Ray. This was unexpected after the tone of the previous articles about his car accident.

Condolences to Ray's loved ones & Duquesne fans everywhere.
Ray was one of a handful of truly exceptional things about Duquesne men's basketball for nearly 6 decades. This is a sad day.
Streaming video services have been beating up on college basketball radio broadcasts for more than a decade. Ray was likely the last of his kind.
Winning without hearing, "Great ghosts alive," won't be quite the same.

Very sad news. My prayers were with him after the accident and certainly will be with his family now. A piece of Duquesne basketball is gone that can never be replaced.

Ray was such an important piece of Duquesne... his voice, his heart, his emotion when an important shot went down and even sharing heartbreak when things didn't go well.
His first game at the student radio station in 1958 to 2026 is a lifetime of 68 years and he went from our most glorious years to this past season.
I'm so glad he got to call the NCAA's again.
He will be missed.

Ray was Duquesne basketball. From his first games in 1958 to now, he’s been bringing us games longer than most of us have been alive with clear, exciting calls than made the game come alive.
Sending prayers to his family.
Rest in Peace Ray
