Great news, got some new bodies in here. Now concentrate on the bigger fellas.

Remember to allow 3 spots (probably) for non-scholarship players on the roster. The NCAA mandated roster limit of 15 includes what were formerly known as "walk-ons".
So, realistically ( if cash is available ) there are really 4 open spots.

If cash isn't available, end the program. Hope congress, supreme court and NCAA settle on a new format.
We lost all the guys making money. Signed a kid from West Georgia, I would assume the VTech kid got some cash, but nothing amazing. The coffers better be nearly full, as full as they can get at Duquesne.

Aekins to Youngstown State

Last year Max went into the portal but ended staying at Duquesne. Hoping Necas will do the same.

I recall that the NCAA changed that rule to accommodate walk-ons

Looking forward to Aekins torment RMU twice a year.
JWill is nowhere is no where near a high power5 level player.
Pasha is a 10 ppg scorer in this league. He likely starts.
Can DJ recruit anyone over 6'6"? He can certainly find and relate to guards.
Our social media is embarrassing compared to our peers. (Reannounce signings and returners maybe?)
Get Necas back by any means at this point.
I believe existing walk-ons are grandfathered in to the roster size changes. Unfortunately, I see no value in traveling 18 guys in this day and age.

Does this just mean guys can’t enter the portal after today? Seeing plenty of posts about guys making visits to schools Thursday and later this week/weekend.
Doesn’t seem like roster has to be finalized or guys all have to commit by tonight but unclear.

This is the last day for kids to enter the Portal and be able to transfer without sitting out a year. Kids in the Portal can don't have any deadline to select a school. You may even selecting schools after the fall semester starts.

So with this signing Dru has 6 open scholarships to give if my math is correct, and if he chooses to use them all. We seem to be pretty well stocked with backcourt players. Speculation is that Pasha will be our starting point guatd, although personally I would like to see us get a seasoned point guard which probably won't happen. The front court has to be the primary focus now. Got to wonder if Dru holds two scholarships in his pocket to see about the possible rule change. What do you think?

I disagree that Jimmie won’t be able to compete at OSU. He can score in multiple ways, so he will still be a weapon.

It looks like Berman is a PG. At 6’6” that is a nice option. I think they will need Pasha to score along with Smith. They have very little scoring returning.
Next they need to fill-in both the theee and four spots along with a five. That is a lot to expect but they do have 6-spots open.

-I now have no idea what a lot to expect looks like, or if this is just the new normal.
-I feel good about the 3 players that have committed this week, especially Pasha & Berman.
- I have high hopes for Jax Williams, Ntapsis, & Jellum, but they are first-year player high hopes. Jax & Jellum are likely to get real minutes. Jellum might be a starter at some point.
-I am pulling hard for Jake to be healthy, provide leadership, bring the newcomers up to speed on the grind that is the A-10 season, & compete for 6th Man of the Year.
-I am not sure how easy it will be for Lawson & Hall to find a place in the rotation. If Hall starts at SF all season, he'd better have made a huge leap on the offensive end.
-I would like the next 4 commitments to be:
-3 legit C/PFs that are forced to compete for minutes. 2 of them need to have already demonstrated that they can successfully start in the A-10. This roster is in dire need of rebounding & rim protection.
-An experienced PG. No more combo-guards for this recruiting class, please.
-I would much rather see the program spend big on bigs & leave 2 scholarships open than fill every available slot. I also like the idea of sitting on a scholarship in case the 5-year rule change comes through, but only if the school is committed to spending the big bucks on any late commitment opportunities that may arise.

So after the signing of Chiam we now have five open scholarships left. Got to believe that Dru is hitting the transfer portal hard to rebuild our front court.

What about Lucas Prolla? He has not been listed anywhere in this thread, do you guys know that he has left the program? I know he isn't exciting, but he is still potentially taking up one of the 15 roster spots for next year as far as I know.
