Tarin Smith

Just exchanged tweets with NJ's premiere high school sports writer, who is covering the Group B championship game between St. Anthony's and Roselle Catholic. I asked how Tarin Smith is playing and the response was "very well."

I really think we need this guy.

Re: Tarin Smith

As soon as I saw that Nebraska offer come in I knew we were finished.  That is a program on the rise and they just built a brand new basketball facility.

It's funny thinking about the Nee hiring. Clearly, either Ed DeChellis, or Bruiser Flint would have been a better choice. That said, I think both would have delivered results similar to what RE did, which means that while it wouldn't have been a disaster like Nee, it still would have left many dissatisfied. DeChellis basically got the same treatment that Ron did, although he was smart enough to jump ahead of the lynch mob, and while Bruiser has done a nice enough job at Drexel, it hasn't been so outstanding that anyone has wanted to hire him away.

Re: Tarin Smith

Of bigger concern: With Smith off the table, Ferry can move forward with his current PG plan. You can pencil us in for 10 wins next year. And the year after that.
