$#%itt or Arizona

Very glad that @#$itt lost to SDSU. If they would have played Arizona, I would have been rooting for them both to lose. Last time I checked, that wasn't possible.

Re: $#%itt or Arizona

I don't want Pitt to fall too far. I want the win to be worth something.

Re: $#%itt or Arizona

We are a lock to beat them this year specifically because for the first time in 30 years I have decided not to go. I will conjure up images of us having them beaten at the arena on an Aaron Lovelace layup then we decide that we should put six guys on the court. Luckily Julius Page missed the technical. December 2000. Before that, 1988 at the Palumbo. Sean Kelly registers a double-double for us. His greatest game as a Duke. Good luck to us...

Curious what's GA's record against The University Of Pittsburgh?

He is winless. Of course to be fair, Pitt has never been as good as they've been during the era that GA has been here (not talking about the Doc Carlson era). The few times we've beaten Pitt since they left the E8, were years when Pitt wasn't very good. Ironically, none of the better teams we've had were able to beat Pitt. In fact, If I remember right, the last 3 or 4 coaches to beat Pitt got fired at the end of the year.

John Cinicola beat Pitt the year he was fired. (1976-77)
Mike Rice beat Pitt the year he was fired. (1981-82)
Jim Satalin (1988-89)
Scott Edgar (1997-98)
DAP (2000-01)

Both John Carroll, and RE failed to beat Pitt, despite having better teams than Satalin, Edgar, and DAP.

Re: $#%itt or Arizona

Pitt has been very good under Jamie.Although GA's hiring had expectations of a Cincy  vs. Xavier rivalry it never materialized.
