NJIT plays Marquette on FS1 tonite at 9 if anyone wants to get a look at our next opponent. Fox Sports 1-It is like #264 on Comcast. Ugly game so far. Marquette is pretty awful though. Lynn has taken a lot of shots for NJIT but hasn't been hitting many. He was 4 for 20 against Marquette. Sure hope he doesn't find his stroke saturday. Rick, Rick, Rick ... never offer to kiss death! OOOPS too late. Don't know much about "Nidgit" (that's how we pronounce it in NJ) this year; last season, when we beat them in their grammar school gym (not fit for D1 hoops), they had a bunch of medium-height forwards who could run and jump, they had some quick guards who continually confounded Colter, Ridenour and Mason most of the game, but they didn't seem to shoot well at all. I would never worry about one player. If he goes off for 40, we just need to get some balanced scoring. Pomeroy has us as 16 point winners tomorrow - 84 to 68; with a probability of a win at 92%. Powell, Stevens and Jones impress me a lot, given it has been a small sample. If they keep playing like this, they deserve more PT. Two things I've always said - and they're based on the words of men far smarter than I - freshmen CAN contribute at a high level, and, when it comes to PT, you play the players who give you the best chance to win. The latter comes from the old ball coach, Parcells. Okay, this is NJIT - not Temple, not Pitt, Not Dayton, NJIT. but some of you will say how good they are...this is a shame. Rick, Rick, Rick ... never offer to kiss death! Gotta take the blame for this. Lynn was 24 for 85 and 7 for 36 in the last two games before lighting us up. This forum is hosted for free by Boardhost. Re: NJIT
I'd guess we can beat them by 30 at home.

Re: NJIT
Predicted to be a fast paced game, which lends itself to a Dukes win.
BTW - early in the world of statistics (one game), but Pomeroy has Tysean Powell as the most efficient offensive player in D-1; Micah Mason 3rd and Jordan Stevens 25th. (Last year, if you recall, Pomeroy had Micah Mason as the #1 efficient D-1 player in the country.)
Go Dukes!

Re: NJIT
I want to see Robinson contribute a little more. He hasn't quite lived up to our own internal hype, e.g., he's not owning the paint. Gill needs to show some consistency. I'd rather see a steady 10-12 and 5-6 from him than nothing, nothing, 25, nothing, nothing. Still waiting for something more from Ridenour, and Mason still looks unsettled.
Thank goodness we're playing the Little Debbie schedule right now.
