then that is it, this is year #3 of the rebuild then for crying out loud, let's start letting those guys who are going to be here for the next two years play and play and play together to get some cohesion and teamwork. Robert Morris is young n they kicked our ass. Thats all he has are excuses. I just randomly picked a couple of teams in the top 59!! There are teams there with only two seniors and other young players ahead of us. He has to blame the kids since he isnt developing them and cant recruit really good kids to Duquesne. His first 2 excuses ran out...he needed 9 or 10 games to get to know his team and they certainly now knowvhow to lose now. So whats left but the they are young excuse. I guess that means that no other teams in the country win with sophomores and juniors. His excuses are pathetic. Last edited by FAM (1/03/2015 5:00 pm) They ran a breakdown by class on NBCSN yesterday - pretty sure it showed 5 juniors (most of whom get extensive playing time) The problem with this team is not youth, it is poor coaching and lack of talent. We started one senior, three juniors and a soph. Dayton started one senior, one junior and three sophs. The other two players for Dayton were a freshman and a junior. Dayton executed their offence at will against our weak zone (just as most teams we have played). On the other end Dayton played smart aggresive defense. I am so sick of the Ferry excuses. It is not that we lost against Dayton, but that we continue to look clueless on offence and defense. High School teams play the very basic zone defense better than Duquesne. I keep saying this, there is no visible signs of coaching on this team. We are not getting better. The way things are going this team looks worse than Ferry's first year team. I make a heck of alot less than the $600K that Ferry earns, but if my division at work did not turn a profit after three years and my excuse was "we just have to figure things out" or "my team did not execute" or "my team is not experienced enough" I would be out on my rear in a New York second. I want Ferry to succeed badly, as most of us do, but he needs to take ownership and control of this team. It is time for him and his high priced staff to earn their xxxxxxx pay! No more excuses. I don't want to hear we need to get better....just get better. Show some signs of coaching, teaching, moltivation, that leads to better play on the court. Mason and Coulter are juniors and you pretty much have to start them.
BUT
I don't want to see McKoy, Stevens or especially Jones get any kind of serious minutes from here on out. Start Lewis (SO) at the real center and then let's see if Powell (F) and, especially Jordan Robinson (who I heard nothing but praise as the "next big thing" on this board and how we would have won five more games with him last year) is the real deal.
OK Jim, if we are young, and that is your excuse, let that youth grow together! It's not like they could be much worse than the steaming pile of crap currently taking the floor.
