Sure glad I was WRONG! I'll take it and admit it every time. Nice job guys! That was refreshing! Great game by Colter. He's been playing like a man all year, regardless of the level of play around him. Rhode Island struggled at home with Fordham in a 3 pt. win. Dare I say we have a chance at 2 in a row? A win is a win, but a long road ahead, but if this team plays un-selfish and looks to find the open man, then maybe this is just the start. Or, it just gets ugly from here. Dukes hate getting full court pressed. That's for sure. big home win for the dukes. def made it interesting down the stretch. We won last night because the Hawks shot poorly from three point range and did not try to work it inside consistently. Our zone defense was better than in prior games, but they had open looks that did not drop. Ferry's move to the man to man with 18.6 seconds left was smart; St. Joes had difficulty getting off a good shot. There probably was a foul on the last shot that was not called, but I am not complaining. Coach should have taken J. Jones out in the last 90 seconds and put in Jordan Stevens because he is a very good foul shooter, a better ball handler and because Jones was limping. The Dukes played hard all night and sometimes you need luck to win at the end. You're absolutely right there were a lot of open shots but St. Joseph's just could not take advantage. Having said that I thought the zone was more active, and protected the middle of the zone better with the guards not both jumping to the perimeter. I was wondering the same thing about Stevens. Jones could really help this team if he could learn to make free throws and finish on layups. Dukes hate getting full court pressed. That's for sure. I thought Colter did a lot better job in handling the press and avoind the traps. There were some bad calls that helped SJU, but Ferry needsto work on that for sure. I have a feeling that URI will start pessing the Dukes as soon as they get out of the Locker Room, and thats not their game. Don't even want to see what happnens vs VCU. Re: St. Joe's
pros- they were down 12 early, instead of packing it in, they laced em up and took control. it was essentially a 24pt turnaround. nice to see them fight back. mckoy keeps getting stronger and stronger. nice to see mason hit a few 3s and colter continues to prove us all wrong.
cons-theyve already been mentioned by others.
hopefully this game can give the "young" dukes some confidence and momentum as we turn our focus to a beatable rhode island team

Jones is a three year starter and with all the games he has played in there is no excuse not to get better, he should have been under recruited after his frosh year.
