only 3 D1 teams at home. only SFU as a rivalry game at home. at least they avoided a home game over thanksgiving break next year.

Keep in mind that the away games with South Dakota State & Liberty are money games for the Dukes.  As I understand it, Jacksonville did not want to come to the Burgh to play the Dukes as part of the home and home contract between the two universities.  I believe Jacksonville will have to pay the Dukes for its bowing out of the agreement.

Come here and lose? Don't blame them for backing out. What if those poor Floridians had to play in 50 degree weather? It's inhumane. #Jackassville 😜

...I imagine a lot has to do a lot with the "stadium" :/ ...Still Really think that is what keeps many teams coming to the bluff. The Rooney's are a Duquesne family. They SHOULD have been or able to "let the city" use Heinz for at least 1 game a year. Whether a Pitt away game, no games on an odd weekend, or a Thursday night warmer weather tilt. Also with less city schools the Rooney field should be a track, practice field and utilize cupples within walking distance. Shuttle from the ample parking in station square. 9000 probably a little more appealing with the travel than a 1000 seat practice field.

It's more likely that the Dukes would look to Highmark Stadium in Station Square for a facility with a larger seating capacity until Rooney Field is upgraded.
