We started 2 freshmen last year, and a sophomore was my 6th man. He was actually 4th in overall playing time. Add Dylan to that group and we have a chance to be pretty good. We have some decent players from the JV team and another freshman to add as well. Thanks for asking.

I learned my lesson from last year, we will probably not be that great this year. But that is okay, it's the first year and our future is looking bright. Trust in the process.

I don't put a lot of value in highlight reals, but he finished through fouls on at least half of those baskets.

I thought the same thing. Couple defenders draped around his neck -- no problem. He's going to get stronger too as he goes through his late teens/early 20s.

-Good hands
-Good footwork
-Poised
-Has to commit to finishing with his opposite hand at the A-10 level
-Gonna get his shot blocked a whole bunch as a freshman until he learns how to create space from longer, more athletic defenders
-Does anyone know how he does from the FT like? Looks like he will spend much time there.
-Would love to have some idea of his ability to pass inside out.

Hey don't look now but we have the 28-ranked recruiting class in the country (second in the A10) for 2018! Swingle is ranked as the number 202 recruit in the country.

Dylan shot 65% from the FT line last year, and he was 80% over the last half of the season. He hit 18 in a row at one point. He's also an excellent passer and was 3rd on our team in assists.

Hi Coach, number 4 that had the yellow undershirt on. Underclassman? Looks like a lot of potential there. If this is breaking any NCAA rules, just forget I even asked. Thanks

Just to be clear, I'm Dylan's high school coach. The video is from his AAU team, C2K Elite. The kid in the yellow undershirt is Darius Bazely. He's one of the best players in the country. He'll be a senior next year, like Dylan.

No problem man. As I said before, I look forward to being a small part of the Duquesne family in the fall of 2018.

Coach Shoe, I noticed that the Ahrens kids is on Dylan's AAU team. Between Dylan, Ahrens, bazely, and that Nike Sabande kid that program seems loaded with talent. I really like Ahrens game, he is really talented. As someone I assume likely knows him at least a little bit, would you think there is any chance Duquesne would be a program of interest to him as well?

Bazley decommited from Ohio St., right before Matta got pushed out. Might have been the straw that broke the camels back for Matta. Bazley says he wants to play on a bigger stage than Ohio St., so you know he won't be coming here.

Yeah kinda figured we wouldn't be on his radar.

The thing I noticed about this kid in several videos is that he knows how to use the glass. That is so important for a big guy. I watched the kid from Richmond several times.  What makes him such a good player is his ability to use the glass for all angles.

I am excited for the quality of player/person Dylan appears to be. After 20 or so games he should be an offensive matchup challenge for most every opponent. I just have a hard time understanding how he will fit into the expected defensive scheme. I wonder if he will be allowed to lay back, rebound, & rim protect while 4 other guys pressure & switch? That is an intriguing notion.
