As you are aware by now the Dukes lost an overtime thriller in the first ever NEC championship game at Rooney. Julius Chestnut proved again that he is the best back in the NEC and maybe at the FCS level and it will be interesting to see if he gets drafted. The Sacred Heart punter was also deserving of a game ball and despite the disappointment of losing, some positives included a furious 4th quarter comeback including a 98 yard drive that QB1 Mischler engineered after being off earlier in the game. And while Chestnut caused a lot of missed tackles, the defense did make some big stops in the 4th quarter and unfortunately only got burned on the last play in overtime. The positioning on defense was improved but tackling must now follow. Overall the spring season provided some bonus football for an extremely young team to gain valuable experience and hopefully will be a lesson for all as to where further improvement is needed! Go Dukes
